Hi, I see the message that says the edit request has now been answered, but no updates have been made to the page. Could someone please share an update on this edit? Thank you! DistrictOfColumbiaYear1790 (talk) 04:35, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am following up on my previous message again regarding the edit request. Thank you! DistrictOfColumbiaYear1790 (talk) 04:04, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I would like to add the following updates to the article. Thank you! DistrictOfColumbiaYear1790 (talk) 06:43, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

1) I would like to restore this sentence that was recently deleted. This sentence had previously gone through the editing process and been approved by another Wikipedia editor.

In this role, Ham advocated for better access and resources for nearly 22 million AAPIs across the United States and its territories.[1][2]

Citation updates in the article's reference section: "Holly Ham named new Chief Growth Officer at Precise Software Solutions, Inc". "Holly Ham (Asian American Coalition for Education)". YouTube.

2) I also would like to add this following sentence.

Education has always played an important part of Ham's life, and she continues to support her former boss Dr. Ben Carson as the Detroit School Board tried to cancel him with a name change of the Benjamin Carson High School.[3]

Please find the section with the new addition and reference: Ham served as Director of Special Projects in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and her work centered on optimizing departmental procedures and improving delivery of service.[4] Education has always played an important part of Ham's life, and she continues to support her former boss Dr. Ben Carson as the Detroit School Board tried to cancel him with a name change of the Benjamin Carson High School.[5]

3) I would like to add the following updates to the article. In May 2023, Ham lost a 3-way race for Position 6 for Humble ISD Board of Trustees.[6] Ham's campaign platform identified the challenges of the district including teacher retention, curriculum rigor and addressing the needs of students post-graduation.[7] [8] Humble Independent School District is located in northeast Houston, referred to as the Lake Houston area.[9] [10]

New Addition to "Government and Career" section

Hi! I'd like to add the following reference and content updates to this section. Could someone please review it? Thank you! DistrictOfColumbiaYear1790 (talk) 21:01, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Declined I've declined your request because the first edit refers to a sentence that includes peacocking (and which I intend to delete) and the second proposed edit is likewise promotional and relies on a self-serving source published by the subject. voorts (talk/contributions) 22:30, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've deleted the first sentence. Also of note, the source you're proposing to add is a speech by the subject of the article. voorts (talk/contributions) 22:32, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Article Updates

Hello! I would like to make the following edits to the article. Thank you so much! DistrictOfColumbiaYear1790 (talk) 02:10, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

1) I would like to add this following sentence: Ham co-founded Asians Making America Great Again (AsiansMAGA) PAC with other conservative Asian American leaders. AsiansMAGA is a national alliance (an independent expenditure political action committee) that aims to mobilize Asian American conservatives and moderates nationwide across multiple ethnic groups (Chinese, Indian, Korean, Vietnamese, and Filipinos) to help President Trump win the 2024 election.[1]

Using as reference: "Suffering from Biden-Harris' Radical Policies, Asian American Leaders Form National Alliance Supporting President Trump". PR Newswire.

2) I'd like to add this following sentence: Ham and Co-Founder Mike Zhao appeared on Fox and Friends First with Todd Piro discussing the importance of issues in the 2024 Presidential election[2]; and to disregard race as a factor in voting. Ham argued that the economy, inflation, crime, border security and education rights are important issues for this election.

Using as reference: "Kamala Harris slammed for avoiding crime during sit-down interview with CNN". Fox News.

3) I would like to add the following updates: AsiansMAGA mobilized rallies in Virginia, North Carolina, Nevada and Georgia. In other battleground states, AsiansMAGA selected key locations for billboards targeting Asian American and Pacific Islander voters. AsiansMAGA worked with Nevada GOP President Pauline Ng Lee and Turning Point Action PAC to have President Trump speak at the United for Change rally in Las Vegas.[3]

Using as reference: "Trump to headline event targeting Asian American voters in Nevada". NBC News.

4) I would like to add this billboard image:

Not done: There are a few issues with the request. The first is about references. There is a press release (non-independent), Fox News (cannot be used for political news), and an NBC news reference. The first two references cannot be used so that leaves us with only the third requested edit that can be dealt with. Unfortunately, this is more of WP:COAT related to AsiansMAGA. The most we could say, assuming there is a reliable secondary source to support, is that she is the co-founder and a maybe a sentence about what it does. Everything else is coatracking and wouldn't be acceptable. The image also needs to align to context on the page and since there cannot be a major portion of AsiansMAGA then I don't believer it would fit. I would suggest reviewing notability of the organization as it may meet guidelines and the information you requested could potentially have a home there. Edit request 6-DEC-2024

Thank you very much for your response and explanation. Here are three sources that verify Ham is the co-founder of the AsiansMAGA organization: the AsiansMAGA website about page listing Ham as a co-founder, Yahoo Finance article listing Ham as both the rally moderator and Media Contact for AsiansMAGA, and Fox News interview where Ham is interviewed as the co-founder of AsiansMAGA.

Sources:

"Welcome to AsiansMAGA". AsiansMAGA.

"Asian Americans Rally Support For President Trump". Yahoo Finance.

"Kamala Harris slammed for avoiding crime during sit-down interview with CNN". Fox News.

Could we please add this following sentence to Ham's article, stating that she is the co-founder of the AsiansMAGA organization? This is a verified title that she holds in an organization, and a part of her Career Section bio. Thank you so much!

New sentence: Ham co-founded Asians Making America Great Again (AsiansMAGA) PAC with other conservative Asian American leaders.[1][2]

Not Done. You have already been informed that the AsianMAGA source is inadmissible and that Fox sources cannot be used for political news. I am unconvinced that the Yahoo Finance story is properly independent, rather than just a regurgitated press release, but in any case it does not state that Ham was a founder of AsianMAGA. The facts that Ham was a rally moderator and Media Contact does not seem to be encyclopaedic information, even if the source is admissible (which, as I say, I doubt). Edit request 20-JAN-2025

Hello! Thank you for your previous feedback. In response, here is a new source that shows Ham is the co-founder of AsiansMAGA! We'd like to update the page with the following sentence, using the new source as a reference. Thank you so much! DistrictOfColumbiaYear1790 (talk) 02:03, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Just following up on this edit - thanks so much! DistrictOfColumbiaYear1790 (talk) 22:56, 16 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Could someone please share an update on this edit request? It is a minor edit to the article. Thank you so much! DistrictOfColumbiaYear1790 (talk) 23:15, 23 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New sentence: Ham co-founded Asians Making America Great Again (AsiansMAGA) PAC with other conservative Asian American leaders.[1]

Not Done. As stated in the reference provided "Only the headline and picture of this report may have been reworked by the Business Standard staff; the rest of the content is auto-generated from a syndicated feed." This is not an admissable source. K8bell (talk)

Edit request 17-AUG-2025

Hi! I am following up on this edit request. We are looking to 1) restore the "Early and mid-career" section that has disappeared, and 2) add the content on AsiansMAGA. Thanks so much!

DistrictOfColumbiaYear1790 (talk) 02:24, 10 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I have two edit requests:

1) We noticed that the "Early and mid-career" section lost the original text about Ham's work as it only showcases the school board race. The original text contained information about Ham's career as a management consultant, and 18 years spent at EDS/HP. Is there a record of it from Wikipedia? Please advise, thank you so much for your support!

2) We would like to request to add the following sentence:

Ham co-founded Asians Making America Great Again (AsiansMAGA) PAC with other conservative Asian American leaders.[1]

Source: "Asian Americans Rally Support For President Trump". Yahoo Finance.

Thank you so much! DistrictOfColumbiaYear1790 (talk) 04:07, 18 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: Hello, thanks for submitting an edit request.

1. We do have a record of the removed content, it was removed in this edit due to it having non-reliable sources. I agree with this removal and cannot reinstate the content unless better sources are found to support it. The biographies of living persons policy is very strict on this.

2. The source provided is from PRNewswire via Yahoo Finance and is not a reliable source, and due to the afformentioned BLP policy I cannot accept it at this time.

If there's any other coverage from independent sources I'd be happy to revisit - ping me a message here. Thanks, Encoded  Talk 💬 18:15, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
