English: With more than a 100 different varieties of dosa, the plain dosa still remains a classic. Shown here are two dosas with a dollop of fresh butter on plantain leaf. Served with raw mango pickle and freshly ground chana dal (split chickpea) chutney. It is a common liking to top the chana dal chutney with fried curry leaves, fried crisp urad dal, etc which add an additional layer of taste. Interestingly, the batter contains urad dal too along with rice and mixture of lentils. A vine of Basella alba added to accentuate the ambience.
