Milen Valentinov Kolev (Bulgarian: Милен Валентинов Колев), known as Milen Kolev (Bulgarian: Милен Колев), is a Bulgarian influencer, TikToker, vlogger, YouTuber, actor, content creator, comedian, dancer, singer, and writer.

Biography

Milen Kolev was born on July 5, 1996, in Dobrich, Bulgaria. He later moved to Tsarevets, Veliko Tarnovo Province. He completed his secondary education at SU Nikolay Katranov in Svishtov, where he studied for 12 years. He then pursued higher education at Medical University Pleven, obtaining a degree as a pharmacy assistant.

Career

At the age of seven, Kolev started engaging in the arts as a member of the folk dance ensemble "Folkloren Izvor" in Tsarevets, Veliko Tarnovo Province. The ensemble was led by Gencho Genchev, a Bulgarian politician and mayor of Tsarevets (2007–2011) and later mayor of Svishtov (2015–present).

In May 2014, Kolev participated in the television show Ide Nashenskata Muzika on Bulgarian National Television, hosted by Milen E. Ivanov, as a guest dancer in the "Folkloren Izvor" ensemble.[1] In 2015, he auditioned for X Factor (Bulgaria) on NOVA, passing the first round with a performance of Yoü and I (Lady Gaga song), but was eliminated in the second round.

In 2011, Kolev created his YouTube channel, initially uploading musical performances before shifting to comedy sketches and vlogs. His popularity grew, reaching over 79,000 subscribers. In 2019, he launched his TikTok account where he gained recognition for his comedy videos. As of now, he has over 460,000 followers on TikTok, more than 46,000 on Facebook, and nearly 60,000 on Instagram.

In 2022, Kolev appeared in the TV show The New Famous on NOVA, discussing his life, career, and his advocacy for his brother Borislav, who has Down syndrome.[2] In June 2023, he was a guest on Predi Obed on bTV.[3] In 2024, he gave an interview to Telegraph (newspaper), sharing his personal and professional views.

Achievements

In 2022, Kolev won the "TikTok Content 'Mothers'" award. In 2023, he received the "TikToker of the Year" award from Grazia Bulgaria.[4]

At the end of 2024, Kolev made his acting debut in the comedy film Pochivkata (The Vacation), based on the YouTube channel Svetat na Vankata. The film premiered in Bulgarian cinemas on December 6, 2024.[5]

Kolev has also made literary contributions as a guest author in two published books from SU Nikolay Katranov: 55+ Inspirational Stories[6] and 60+ Inspirational Stories.[7]
