Breza (Hungarian: Breza) is a village and municipality in Námestovo District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1580. ^{[citation needed]}

The municipality lies at an altitude of 657 metres (2,156 ft)^[3] and covers an area of 22.52 km² (8.70 sq mi) (2024).^[4]

It has a population of 1639 people (31 December 2024).^[6]

In year 2021 was 1627 people by ethnicity 1595 as Slovak, 36 as Not found out, 4 as Czech, 2 as Russian, 1 as Polish, 1 as Hungarian and 1 as Other.
