No mention of "functions" at the target, much less "step functions". People searching for information on Amazon Step Functions instead of the general article on their web services are likely looking for specific topic, one that we don't cover on Wikipedia. The only direct mention of this is in the refs of Amazon SageMaker, to my understanding. Utopes (talk / cont) 15:44, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

The only thing I can find about this name is its indigenous origin. Currently not mentioned at the target, not even at Acer saccharum#Use by Native Americans as a section I'd expect to see this in. But it would likely be difficult to cover it, the only place I see this discussed is on the Indigenous Wiki, and the being in question would be a totally different topic, presumably. Utopes (talk / cont) 15:40, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- Keep, redirects are cheap and its an alternative vernacular name for the species.--Kevmin § 16:37, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- Redirects being cheap is not an excuse to leave readers stranded via a redirect without mention. Not seeing any sources of it being a 1:1 "alternate name", without just being a Lenapé RLANG never addressed anywhere on the entirety of Wikipedia mainspace, which is the story I'm seeing right now. If its a true alt name it can be mentioned in the lead with a source. Utopes (talk / cont) 17:18, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- Keep if it can be verified as a native name and spelling; it does not need to be in the lead, but ought to be mentioned in the article and cited to a source so that readers can see that it's not made up. If it isn't mentioned, the solution is to find an appropriate place in the article and mention it, not to delete the redirect. Native names are worth mentioning, though if they're fairly obscure and not widely known to English speakers, placing them in the lead is probably undue. P Aculeius (talk) 11:54, 12 January 2025 (UTC)
The solution is to...
: Both of those things can happen though. It can be deleted for now, as long as it is not mentioned, and then recreated when a mention is added to the article. Native names are definitely worth mentioning, but there is WP:NORUSH to do so. In the interim, this redirect currently accommodates a term that is not given context at the target, confusing readers who have no choice but to trust in invisible "correctness" without WP:Verifiability. Ideally I'd like to remove unverified bytes from mainspace. When content is added and the bytes can be verified to a reliable source, remake the redirect. No valuable history is being lost here, this has always been a redirect. Utopes (talk / cont) 06:20, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- Delete. I do not believe this is the Lenape word for sugar maple. If you google it, that is what comes up - but the sources are things like folk tale websites, girl guides pamphlets, etc. Not sources I would trust on this. Here's a source I would trust: [1]. "Axsinaminshi" is not there. -- asilvering (talk) 02:37, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

A number of balungan redirects which aren't mentioned at the target page. People specifying this level of detail will not be able to find it at an article where it is not discussed. Utopes (talk / cont) 15:21, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- Keep. The contents were in a section "Types of balungan" that I had written which was deleted without explanation in 2011 without me noticing at the time. I have restored it (diff) and the explanations are there. Rigadoun (talk) 16:21, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the explanation! @Rigadoun:, perhaps it was removed because of sourcing? Because if someone removes it again (which may or may not happen, I don't know) and places the WP:BURDEN on the restorer, these redirects will become problematic again if they stop being addressed at the target. Just wanted to give you a heads up because these might be in a precarious position right now. I'm comfortable withdrawing this nomination now that material has been reinstated. But a source somewhere in this section might be ideal to help keep this content secure on the page, and this might end up back at RfD if someone challenges the section like they did in 2010. Utopes (talk / cont) 17:24, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- Refine all to Balungan#Types of Balungan. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 21:40, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- Comment: After further consideration, I realized that did not feel very comfortable letting 7 redirects target a section full of unverified types of balungan, of which may or may not be WP:DUE weight in the grand scheme of the article. So I removed the unverified material (all of it)... but then self-reverted and added some citations because I didn't really want to complicate this after a week. So now the material is cited, and this outcome seems to be good and helps readers get to the information they want. Targeting the types of balungan section as suggested by Skarmory seems like a plus, as an R to section for all of these. Utopes (talk / cont) 06:41, 20 January 2025 (UTC)

The target only includes federal lands that are part of the national park system, omitting large national forests and lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management, among others. Delete to encourage article creation. Mdewman6 (talk) 00:14, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- I don't see why we can't stubbify all of these titles right away. BD2412 T 14:35, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Note: I just created a list of this sort under List of federal lands in Alaska. This can be replicated, and expanded with the suggested categories of information. BD2412 T 14:52, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- But like the redirect target, the stub is missing national forests, BLM lands, military lands, etc.. Not opposed to creating list articles at these titles of course, but until someone wants to undertake making a comprehensive list, these should be red. Mdewman6 (talk) 21:37, 9 December 2024 (UTC)

- Delete all per nom. The newly created list basically duplicates List of the United States National Park System official units#Alaska and related pages, is wildly incomplete since there's far more than NPS areas, and incorrectly includes sites that are affiliated but not actually federal land; this should draftified or also deleted. I don't think these should be hastily made just for the sake of it. Some states instead have a related list of protected areas that includes state lands. Reywas92Talk 04:18, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

- Stuybbify/Listify per BD2412 above. Reywas92 above says that this duplicates the Park System article, but the whole point of this is that while there is overlap, this isn't an identical list-- federal lands include more areas than just the parks, although it will include the parks as well. Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Jay 💬 12:56, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete all per Reywas92. Creating these lists would be time consuming given the multiplicity of types of federal lands. I agree that attempting to stubbify in order to resolve this RfD would be hasty. Letting these exist as redlinks would resolve the current problem of pointing to an overly specific target while alerting readers to the need to add content. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 16:02, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

- Keep. If there's one other noteworthy use, consider a WP:HATNOTE. If there's multiple other noteworthy uses, consider creating Purple Cap (disambiguation). As per WP:RDELETE points 2 and 10, this redirect not only could plausibly be expanded into into an article (See prior edit history), but also creates significant confusion (The primary article linking to this is Chongqing, which this redirects back to, creating a recursive link) - Additionally, there are next to no pageviews (Prior to proposing this redirect be deleted), suggesting that it's not used frequently Gmoat (talk) 16:41, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

- Restore an old version of the article, maybe this version. Looking at the corresponding zh.wikipedia article, I see lots of sources, so I think the article would likely survive AfD if nominated. Note that "middle school" in China usually just means "secondary school"; from an American perspective, this is more like a consolidated middle and high school rather than a middle school. —Mx. No mention of "Majas" in the body of the article. If this was a former name it is never indicated as such; might be a different thing entirely. This was the matter of a Votes for Deletion back in the day at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Majas DSL where it was decided at 2 votes redirect and 1 vote delete that this page should no longer stand. Described as a non-notable entry in 2005, probably doesn't need to be a redirect where it is not described in 2025 either. Utopes (talk / cont) 01:06, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

"LY411575" not mentioned at the target. Apparently is a cell-permeable γ-secretase inhibitor. Definitely not ascertainable from the article on "hearing loss" without context, so delete this redirect which confuses readers by taking them to a location where the context of their search term is not explained. Not mentioned at the target. Raw veganism is a redirect and a section that already exists. People who wanted to look up raw veganism, can already do so. Because "low fat" or "low-fat" is never said at the target, individuals searching for this variant of raw veganism would be unable to find any dedicated content. In absence of a specific mention of "low fat" anywhere, delete. Utopes (talk / cont) 00:48, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- Delete, no good sourcing for "low fat raw veganism" and it is not commonly referred to. It is not worth redirecting to raw veganism. I doubt anyone is actually searching for these specific terms. Psychologist Guy (talk) 04:00, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

When this redirect was created in 2005, it was as a redirect to watchlist, which can make sense. Look to watch, book to list. However, after being disambiguationified, and turned around to suspect, I'm not sure how much use this redirect has nearly 20 years later. We don't really have a great article on a generic "watchlist" nowadays, as Watchlist (NGO) and others are specific and tailored. Not great to suspect either. So I'm low on ideas, and default to deletion in absence of anything. Utopes (talk / cont) 00:39, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- Not a comment on the existence of this specific redirect, but I feel like we should have an article on watchlist generally. PARAKANYAA (talk) 23:26, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
