Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ben Skowronek, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Fullback. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

College football photos

Out of curiosity, where are you getting these photos you've been uploading to Wikimedia Commons of players like Kyren Williams. --Engineerchange (talk) 14:50, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have been using images from Flickr.com, it is a free stock image website, and you can use some images on there for Wikipedia if they are licensed under Creative Commons. And please don't mind the Scottie Barnes info box, I was practicing editing. Soundwave7711 (talk) 21:26, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the information. When you upload to Commons, I recommend clicking "Share images using Flickr" on the upload page instead of downloading and uploading them yourself. The Kyren Williams Flickr photo that you uploaded is not appropriate for upload to this wiki because it is of license Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs License. Not all Creative Commons licenses are allowed on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. The manner in which you uploaded makes it seem like you are the photographer yourself. --Engineerchange (talk) 23:18, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Understood, should I remove the image and replace with the old one or upload the image again in the way you described? Soundwave7711 (talk) 23:29, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am noting them now all as copyright violations. The photographers have uploaded them with either rights reserved or some rights reserved copyright. These copyrights do not allow upload. If you uploaded it via the "share images using Flickr" tool I mentioned, it would've warned you that the images were not appropriate to upload. Can you please point me to the LaNorris Sellers flickr image, so I can tag that one? --Engineerchange (talk) 23:33, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, one moment. Soundwave7711 (talk) 23:56, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks I found the original image on Instagram. --Engineerchange (talk) 00:06, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Soundwave7711 (talk) 00:08, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your help here. I recommend reading some of the getting started guides listed above on the first post to your talk page. You can also make your own sandbox instead of on your talk page; click "here" on Wikipedia:Sandbox to make it on your personal page. When it comes to uploading photos (use the Flickr tool here, it's as easy as copy pasting the flickr url - Commons:UploadWizard), please be cognizant that copyright is fairly strict and you can only upload photos to Commons if its a specific type of Creative Commons. Also, don't worry, we all make these kinds of mistakes when we get started editing, so don't be discouraged, but try to be aware of others' copyright restrictions as its their ownership of the photos they took. --Engineerchange (talk) 00:13, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I will, thanks for your time! Soundwave7711 (talk) 00:22, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
