ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:57, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dawn Wells Page

Hi, if you'd waited two minutes after I'd made my change you would have seen the reference I was editing. Maybe you should wait awhile before swooping in and reverting someone else's edit. 2600:1700:A7AF:E000:ACEE:6326:BB79:3BE3 (talk) 09:25, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, was acting too hastily. Parksfan1955 (talk) 09:39, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Was confused seeing you remove the remnants of a partially vandalized reference and thought you were acting in bad faith. I restored the article to a previous version before vandalism by 174.131.75.85. Again, apologies. Parksfan1955 (talk) 10:04, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

Hi Parksfan1955. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! —Femke 🐦 (talk) 18:55, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Vandal

Hi Parksfan1955. This current vandalism is the same as Layla who was just blocked. An IP comes around, and then joins and reverts it. I looked it up, it's 173 beats. But the reverts go back and forth too quickly. That's so we revert the last one and they think they won. Bringingthewood (talk) 05:25, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Bringingthewood Thanks for the information. I went to RfPP to hopefully take care of the problem for the meantime. Parksfan1955 (talk) 05:29, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome and thanks for contacting RfPP. It must have worked, jpgordon removed a message I just received from a vandal. I removed one from your page earlier, along with Izno and LuK3's love letters. It was a few accounts being created very quickly. The good news, they did get blocked! Well, time for sleep. It was nice meeting you. Regards, Bringingthewood (talk) 05:54, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Eduardo Cruickshank Smith, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A bare URL error. References show this error when one of the URL-containing parameters cannot be paired with an associated title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. ( | )

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can . Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 08:57, 6 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
