about tunis
Hey Marek,
I'm still new to editing wiki pages and wanted to know why Tunis should be designated as 'city' instead of 'capital city' like other capitals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zizo006 (talk • contribs) 14:28, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Zizo006, thank you for your message.
- I'm guessing that you are referring to your edit to Tunis which I changed.
- Tunis is designated as a capital city. The first line of the article says:
- The change you made was in the infobox template.
- In this article there is a settlement infobox and in this template there is a field for settlement_type=
- This field is normally filled in with City, Town, Village, Hamlet, Municipality, Reservation, Comune
- If you look at other capital cities, e.g. Rome the settlement type displayed is Comune, Madrid has Municipality, Washington, D.C. has Federal district,
- Moscow has Federal city, Beijing has Municipality, Ankara has City, Zagreb has City, etc.
- I suppose there is nothing wrong with putting 'Capital City' into this field, but I think it is better to be consistent when using infoboxes.
- Also, this field changes headings lower down in the infobox, so what originally (in the Tunis) infobox was displayed as:
• City 1,056,247
• Density 9,406.01/km2 (24,361.5/sq mi)
• Urban 2,294,547
• Metro 2,643,695
- With Capital City in the settlement_type= field became:
• Capital City 1,056,247
• Density 9,406.01/km2 (24,361.5/sq mi)
• Urban 2,294,547
• Metro 2,643,695
- Which I think does not help with clarity.
- I hope this explanation helps. Kind regards Marek.69 talk 17:15, 12 October 2016 (UTC)

RFA voting
Marek, can any user vote in a RFA? Thanks. Foreignshore (talk) 18:41, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Foreignshore Thank you for your message.
- All Wikipedians—including those without an account or not logged in ("anons")—are welcome to comment and ask questions in an RfA, but numerical (#) "votes" in the Support, Oppose, and Neutral sections may only be placed by editors while logged in to their account. (quoted from WP:RFA)
- So the short answer is yes, logged-in users can vote in an RFA, but we ignore vandals and trolls as elsewhere.
- Best regards -- Marek.69 talk 05:47, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
DYK for V-2 missile launch site, Blizna
On 2 January 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article V-2 missile launch site, Blizna, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in order to disguise the V-2 missile launch site in Blizna, the Nazis created an artificial village with plywood cottages and barns, and plaster people and animals? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/V-2 missile launch site, Blizna. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, V-2 missile launch site, Blizna), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

"Share your knowledge"
Thank you for quality articles such as Titanic Musicians' Memorial, Southampton and V-2 missile launch site, Blizna, for quoting "Share your knowledge. It is a way to achieve immortality.", for an impressive image gallery, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!
--Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:07, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Gerda.
- This is a pleasant surprise.
- Thank you for the compliment, that is very kind of you.

- This is a wonderful reply, making my editing a bit better. See my talk about what hurts right now
- a friend dragged to ANI the first day of the year ... - Do you do DYK reviews? I'd need one for Babar, le petit éléphant (not by me), for Poulenc's birthday, 7 January. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:57, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

Stop removing things without using the TP
I saw your edits in the article on the Culture of Europe. Could you please stop removing information without using the TP? Thank you very much. C.Gesualdo (talk) 03:17, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
- Hi C.Gesualdo, thank you for your message.
- I'm not sure I understand what you are referring to. I checked the edit history of Culture of Europe and I see that I have only ever edited the article once, dating back to 4 March 2010, in which I corrected a typo (european → European).
- Please clarify. Kind regards -- Marek.69 talk 20:03, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I've contacted the wrong person. Sorry to bother you. C.Gesualdo (talk) 21:33, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
