Social media being overly affectionate with lebron

Lately there has been a surging trend of people being overly affectionate with lebron going as far to make 40 minute videos talking about lebron (1). Even though these videos are satire it should be mentioned. 2803:F340:1200:585C:12B0:A91E:E15A:302C (talk) 15:37, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Racist comments from pro-Trump protesters in Hong Kong

People who mention LeBron's comments about Daryl Morey's support of the pro-Trump protests in Hong Kong - which claimed to be pro-democracy but wanted American democracy dismantled to have theirs saved - seem to forget that those same people supposedly fighting against communism ended up hurling racist and xenophobic comments towards LeBron, and I think this should be mentioned. 2603:6080:A005:BBA4:3D84:95B1:4B44:57A (talk) 13:21, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There's currently: His statement drew backlash from protesters in the movement, with some taking to social media to use racist language about him.Bagumba (talk) 13:42, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh... thank you! I was hoping at least one Wikipedia article would point out how racist the attacks on LeBron were after that incident happened. As for the Hong Kongers who were on the street protesting for Trump to liberate them, they seem to be jealous of LeBron's contributions to the world. 2603:6080:A005:BBA4:3D84:95B1:4B44:57A (talk) 19:14, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to split "Professional career" into its own article

Because the "Professional career" section is very long, I am suggesting the section to be split into its own article. The main LeBron James article will have the "Professional career" section repurposed into a concise summary of James's NBA career, which also includes him passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader. What do you think? ScarletViolet 13:20, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I have created a sample/mockup. This can be seen here. ScarletViolet 13:41, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. His primary notability is his playing career, so it doesnt make sense to make readers go to yet another article to get that main info. His career should just be summarized more, and leave certain details to the respective team season pages (e.g 2019–20 Los Angeles Lakers season, NBA Finals pages (2020 NBA Finals), etc. WP:NOTDIARY. —Bagumba (talk) 14:28, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Support. LeBron has such a long a storied career that it merits a separate article, and thus allows the carreer section of his main page to be streamlined into brief summaries for the easily defined chapters of his time in the NBA. I think LeBron is a large enough figure off the court that his main article needs to contend with his other ventures and assorted info. --JoaumBoladaum (talk) 06:07, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose for Now. Lebron will undoubtedly have a long storied career as a NBA owner / coach / gm or as a politician but until he retires but until that happens Lebron James is the basketball player and the bulk of the article will continue to be about his playing career.
Once he retires then I'll move this to support. Nkulasingham (talk) 19:07, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

LeBron James wasn't an all star in 2025 as he never participated in the game. End fact. 209.172.31.188 (talk) 13:40, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No, a player can be credited for an All-Star selection even if they don't play. For example, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was selected 19 times and played in 18.[1]Bagumba (talk) 14:51, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lebron James is known as the best basketball player of all time. Lebron James' brother is Mr. Felix Schmidt

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Also we usually don't mention a subject's siblings unless they are notable. Replicative Cloverleaf (talk) 16:24, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of discussion relating to this page

Due to recent edits, there's nothing relevant to inline tag in the lead, so this is a notice that there is a discussion at WT:NBA#Discussion on allowing "greatest" in the lead of all NBA players which pertains to this article. Left guide (talk) 08:28, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Specifically, the edit removing is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time[2]. —Bagumba (talk) 08:34, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

POV lead tag

{{POV lead}} tag added due to pushback at WT:NBA over recent removals. Willing to remove the tag once a consensus is reached on how to treat "greatest" claims in the lead for this article. Left guide (talk) 07:58, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Change the infobox to include point guard, shooting guard and center. LeBron has been listed as those positions in his career according to his basketball reference page Ccont001 (talk) 16:59, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit semi-protected}} template. This has been discussed repeatedly in the past. PianoDan (talk) 19:56, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
