Cast table

The cast table should include the original Broadway cast and and subsequent major-market casts, like a West End production. It should not include regional productions and other short runs. Information about other productions can be given in the Productions section. Development information should be described, to the extent it is of encyclopedic importance, in the Development section. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:33, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

At a minimum, Broadway Cast Replacement history should be included. Hamilton (musical) and Anastasia (musical) both have Broadcast Cast Replacement history. In addition, Aladdin (2011 musical) and Anastasia (musical) both have current cast listed. -- Jonyyeh (talk) 03:20, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Those are not WP:Featured Articles, partly because they contain fancruft, but you are wrong about Hamilton and Aladdin: They include only *notable* cast replacements. I agree that notable Broadway and West End cast replacements should be included. -- Ssilvers (talk) 04:30, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The actresses who portrayed Young Anna and Young Elsa left the musical at the end of April. This is according to a posting on the Instagram account of Caissie Levy and on their individual pages. Should the change be reflected and in what way? Kgstewart1 (talk) 08:04, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No, because the replacement actresses are non-notable persons. See WP:NOT. -- Ssilvers (talk) 10:07, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure why we are not allowed to include details on the cast of the Australian production given it's a feature of every other wiki pages on other musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera (1986 musical) and Wicked (musical) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.32.72.168 (talk) 11:28, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"Current Cast" additions

IP, could you please stop edit warring to add the names of the current cast to the Original cast section. If you think why we should go against common practice to take this step, please outline your thoughts here. - SchroCat (talk) 09:11, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Another IP, 2003:C9:D3D7:1634:29F7:EF89:E497:87CC, (from Germany) added the same "current cast" on May 16 @ 7:46, which I have deleted. Flami72 (talk) 11:56, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As we say above, *notable* cast replacements can be added as notes below the table. Notable replacements are persons who satisfy the criteria for WP:ENT and are blue-linked. -- Ssilvers (talk) 10:10, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Frozen Jr.

There ought to be another tab discussing Frozen Jr., it’s brief history, song information, and how it was adapted. Hellenophile07 (talk) 17:48, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kids' versions of musicals are usually not of encyclopedic interest. If this one is, there will be multiple independent WP:Reliable sources written about it, and you can then write a paragraph citing those sources. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:23, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New and Retired Songs

The national tour, and all new productions (Europe and Australia), have replaced "For the First Time (reprise)" with a new song, "I Can't Lose You" (https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2019-12-03/frozen-musical-tour-song-i-cant-lose-you), and also have dropped "True Love". Patti Murin on her Instagram says that True Love is being dropped even from Broadway as the new leads take over starting Feb 18th (https://www.instagram.com/p/B8ow1MJnNgO/) , but I don't have any other citation for that. I'm horrid with citing syntax here, so if someone could edit this properly into the main article, please do. I do not know if Broadway is introducing Can't Lose You or not. Acroyear (talk) 23:54, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This could be a footnote to the song list. -- Ssilvers (talk) 02:50, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

updating dates

Need to finish updating the dates for the musical, e.g. Australian production 2405:6E00:1E92:EC00:D9A4:6F52:14E8:2F7B (talk) 05:46, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

When you add new information to Wikipedia, please cite an independent news source that states the information, not the show's own website. For more information, please see WP:V and WP:RS. Thanks. -- Ssilvers (talk) 12:38, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Frozen play hatnote

I know the Frozen musical may be the more famous of the two but considering there's a play with similar name I think a hatnote to the play would be appropriate. Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 18:42, 10 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I just checked WP:NOTAMBIGUOUS:

A hatnote may still be appropriate when even a more specific name is still ambiguous. For example, Tree (set theory) might still be confused with Tree (descriptive set theory). The presence or absence of hatnotes in articles with disambiguated titles has been a contentious issue. There are cases where some editors strongly believe that such hatnotes should be included, such as the various articles about treaties called Treaty of Paris.

I think a hatnote would be allowed by the above statement and would be useful to readers. Even though the title has the "(musical)" disambiguation I could see someone accidentally coming here while looking for the musical film, the Disneyland musical, or the play. Although I'd argue that the play is the least likely of the three since it's not a musical. Maybe a hatnote linking to the disambiguation page and the Disneyland musical would be best. People could still find the play through the disambig page. Jak86 (talk)(contribs) 02:12, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think maybe hatnote to the disambiguous page? Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 17:50, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The play is not a musical and should not be in a hatnote. Many musicals become films, and the musical articles always have a section in which they discuss and link to the film articles. They do not and should not also have hatnotes referring to the films. -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:16, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

How about a hatnote to the disambiguous page? Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 17:50, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not every article needs a hatnote. This article name is unambiguous, and it is not customary to do what you are suggesting. If you type "Frozen" into the search box, you immediatly see the disambig page and the film article; the musical is buried much lower in the list. -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:09, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
