:I'm guessing the answer is no. For instance, which zip code do you use in a major city like Philadelphia? If all of them, then you may have trouble tracking them down if named sections of the city have their own. Or for that matter do you list Philly's 3 area codes, even if those area codes extend into distant northern suburbs. Also I believe RamBot is driven by the census data, however the post office and census bureau are not on the same page. For instance Conowingo, Maryland is not a CDP, but has a post office and zip code. I live in a "village" that still has its own zip, but no longer has its tiny PO. My CDP is a township which covers bits and pieces of several zip codes.--J Clear 03:21, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

:: that is a good point, but in america there are maybe 100 cities that have multiple area/zip codes. For thousands of cities it would be a usefull bit of info. -Ravedave <small>(help name my baby)</small> 03:26, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Erie County, New York

Hey there, I noticed you made the pages for pretty much all the municipalities in Erie County, New York. Just wanted to let you know I created locator maps for the municipalities and a template for Erie County places. OzLawyer 18:35, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nice. Most of the U.S. states have been taken care of, but there are still a few outstanding ones. Ram-Man 18:40, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was wondering if the Template:GR link for the county seat on most US County pages is working properly. I thought that it used to link to a reference on county seats, but now it links to a Bulgarian reference (or at least the 6th ref is now this - which is not very helpful). If I do not hear from you in a few days I will post this question on Wikiproject US Counties. Thanks, Ruhrfisch 16:03, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, it is working correctly. If you follow the link, the top line of the page is "A list of the U.S. county seats.", with a link to the correct information. It is just coincidence that below it are the references. Perhaps it is unfortunate that those are numbered, in conflict, but that's the way it is at the moment unless someone changes it to be a little clearer. — Ram-Man () (talk) 16:51, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • OK, thanks for the quick reply. I guess I do not understand what the number 6 is for / what 6 refers to (as opposed to just having a superscript GR and looking for the information in the page on following the link). I find it especially cryptic when it is just a superscript 6, i.e. 6. Thanks again, Ruhrfisch 19:07, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Your confusion is understood. Originally the references were numbered, but for some reason they are not numbered anymore. They probably should be, and that was my point. — Ram-Man () (talk) 22:58, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and welcome to the Countries WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of counties.

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Starting some new articles? See some model pages such as Cambodia!
  • Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every country article in Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Shy1520 10:26, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

zip & area codes
