(Lecanorine-type apothecium) Chemistry: Medulla K+ strong yellow turning red, KC-, C-, PD+ pale yellow. This collection of Aspicilia cinerea was growing on rock along the trail up Black Mountain, just S of Tunk Lake, NE of Ellsworth in Hancock County, Maine, USA (Lat. 44o35' N, Long. 68o06' W, Elevation 200 meters).
