DayMukti is a 2025 upcoming Bangladeshi Bengali-language family drama film with screenplay and direction by Badiul Alam Khokon. Produced by Md Jasim Uddin under the banner of Raisa Film Production. The film stars Symon Sadik, Sushmi Rahman, Samia Nahi, Abul Hayat, Dilara Zaman in as lead role[1] and other roles played Shuchorita, Subrata, Syed Rafi Uddin Salim and others. It is a government funded film.[2] The film is based on the story of an old age home.[3]

Production

DayMukti received government grant in 2017. However, due to various reasons, the director said that he could not start the shooting of the film. Symon and Sushmi signed the film at a studio in the capital city (Dhaka) on Thursday evening on September 24, 2020.[14] Just before a day of the Victory Day on 15 December 2021, the government-funded film DayMukti has received censor clearance.[15][16]

Filming

The shooting of the film DayMukti has started from November 5, 2020.[17]

Earlier the director was Komol Sarkar. Later Badiul Alam Khokon is finishing the work of the film. It is known that the work of the film was stuck for a long time due to various reasons. But this time the shooting is over on June 2021 and the film is coming to the release procession.[18]

Music

In this movie, popular singer Monir Khan has given voice to a song written by Moniruzzaman Monir and the film's music are composed by Ali Akram Shuvo.[19]

Release

Although the shooting of this film was completed, the issue of release was stuck due to various reasons. Finally the movie is coming to theaters. The movie is releasing nationwide on February 7, 2025.[20] The film is about to release after 7 long years of receiving the government grant.[21]

On the occasion of the release of this film, a press conference was organized at a restaurant in the capital on 3 February 2025.[22][23] The film was released in 20 theaters on 7 February 2025 cashing with the Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury’s film Boli.[24][25]

Reception

RisingBD wrote that "Since the release of the song 'Ontre Bahire' of this movie directed by Badiul Alam, the song has been spreading fascination. Many in the audience are appreciating the lyrics, melody and singer of this new song".[26]

Dhaka Mail wrote that "The government-funded movie has received a good response from the audience after its release. Its story, production style and acting are getting appreciation from the audience".[27]

Bijoy TV interviewed the viewers of this movie, a viewer said that "After many days, I saw a movie worth watching, we enjoyed it very much, we want no father or mother to go to old age home". Another one of the viewers said that "A very good movie, I saw a social movie after many years, a movie to watch with family". All the audience appreciated this movie after watching it.[28]

NewG24 wrote that "After watching the movie, the president of Bangladesh Film Club Limited, Lion M. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury said, 'The story is the soul of this movie. I watched the movie with family. The movie, which is a social story, has many messages. This generation should watch the movie".[29]

Amar Barta wrote that ""Premer Taj Mahal's famous director Gazi Mahbub said, "The movie has many messages, which the young generation of today needs to see." The story will hold the audience throughout. Moreover, Abul Hayat, Dilara Zaman, Shuchorita Apa performed very well and Sushmi Rahman have performed well as a newcomer. All in all a movie worth watching with the family. I like it very much".[30]

Dhaka Mail also wrote that "A visitor from Dhanmondi in the capital said, 'I came to see the movie after seeing the poster. Social story movies are not seen much these days. Apart from that, there is nothing lacking in this movie as a donation movie. DayMukti is a movie worth watching with the family".[31]

Rupali Bangladesh also wroted the same reviews.[32]
