Devonte Ross is an American football wide receiver for the Penn State Nittany Lions. He previously played for the Troy Trojans.
Early life
Ross attended Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia. He played wide receiver and cornerback in high school. As a senior, he was the Daily Tribune Player of the Year after recording 43 receptions for 876 yards and 10 touchdowns on offense and 26 tackles and one interception on defense. For his career he had 126 receptions for 2,532 yards and 29 touchdowns. Ross originally committed to play college football at the University of Kentucky before flipping his commitment to Troy University.
College career
Ross played at Troy from 2022 to 2024.[1] In his first two years he combined for 53 receptions for 575 yards and three touchdowns. As a junior in 2024, he set the school record for receiving yards in a game with 229.[2] He finished the season with 76 receptions for 1,043 yards and 11 touchdowns.[3][4] After the season, Ross entered the transfer portal and transferred to Penn State University.[5][6][7]
