Chaitanya Sayaji Wadekar (born 17 October 1994), also known as Chaitanya Maharaj Wadekar is an Indian Marathi kirtankar and Internet personality, known for his teachings in spirituality and personal development.

Early life

Chaitanya Maharaj Wadekar was born on October 17, 1994, in Bhamboli, Pune district. He completed his secondary education at Sant Dnyaneshwar School in Alandi, where he also pursued studies in Sant literature.[1][2]

Career

Chaitanya Maharaj has become prominent figure among the youth in Maharashtra. He is the founder and president of the Madalsa Warkari Santha, which aims to promote Warkari saints and literature.[1]

Personal life

Wadekar married in April 2021.[1] Wadekar is lives in Mahanlunge area near Pune.[1]

Controversies

In July 2024, Pramod Wadekar, brother of Chaitanya Wadekar Maharaj, was wrongfully detained by the Chakan police. The police later claimed their visit was prompted by student complaints regarding threats made at the institute. Chaitanya Wadekar Maharaj's subsequent complaint against the police.[3]

On 2 October 2024, Chaitanya Maharaj Wadekar along with his partners—Amol Sayaji Wadekar, Pramod Sayaji Wadekar, and Rishikesh Shashikant Suryawanshi was arrested for their involvement in illegally excavating a road near his residence Mahanlunge. The complaint, filed by Ajit Ramdas Patil at the Mahanlunge MIDC police station.[4][5]

Chaitanya Maharaj's actions have sparked mixed reactions among his followers and the general public. Due to controversy raised questions about his credibility as a spiritual leader.[1]
