Williams Township is located in Sangamon County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,446 and it contained 1,332 housing units.[2]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 42.94 square miles (111.2 km2), of which 42.84 square miles (111.0 km2) (or 99.77%) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) (or 0.23%) is water.[2]
