Power-hungry wannabes
Moved from oppose section:
- Kurt, can you provide a real reason to oppose? Self nominations are explicitly allowed. Bringing your disgruntlement with the RFA process into individual cases is WP:POINT in my opinion. Jehochman Talk 01:37, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Don't use that blue link. Wisdom89 (T / C) 01:57, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Bureaucrats approve adminship by not only the votes, but more of general consensus. By the way, I found it humorous when people contradict themselves =) Aquarius • talk 04:52, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Aquarius, do not insult Kurt with that line. It's been two years since that RfA, and you are not assuming good faith with that comment in any way whatsoever. —Dark talk 07:21, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Kurt Weber has been assuming bad faith on the part of self-noms for years now, while Aquarius makes one comment and gets jumped on. As a former bureaucrat I would completely ignore any vote with this type of reason (and, as well, any oppose vote with no reason given) so it's not a big deal anyway. ugen64 (talk) 17:52, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

- Kurts views are common knowledge at RfA, something i am suprised you weren't aware of before nominating yourself. But neway, there are many who disagree with kurt, i am one of them. What everyone
doesshould and mostly do agree on is that he has a view, and a reason to oppose and is entitled to give it here. Seddσn talk Editor Review 18:11, 24 June 2008 (UTC)- I know that Kurt's account is not a SPA; however I disagree with this, this and this, as there is no change on the reason. The last time I told Kurt to stop this, Wisdom89 insulted me, telling me to be careful when using the troll term. Let's have an example of a RfA troll account: Amorde2 always opposes to RfAs in the Spanish Wikipedia (see example here; there are plenty more). Kurt is very similar, with the difference that he only opposes only to self-nom RfAs. My suggestion would be to tell Kurt to stop this or being on the risk of getting blocked. macytalk 19:45, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Not quite true, he opposes admin-coached RFAs as well. In any case, it's clear he's entrenched in his opinion and he rarely responds to discussion regarding it. Someone should shuffle this discussion off to the talk page. –xenocidic (talk) 19:51, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- This is a subject we shouldn't be quarrelling over any more. It's a very dated subject matter. There was one of a number of large-scale and high profile debates about this months ago, in which I was involved, and no-one should be made to go through it again. Nothing will change as a result of this, so "be what may". Lradrama 20:16, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
