• This image was taken by me (under a free licencse) and uploaded by somebody else. Recently, it was removed from the article Aryan Guard (neo-Nazi group) on the grounds it violates WP:BLP as there's no reliable way of determining who is and who is not a group member. Most people, including those at the front, aren't with the AG. No media outlet has shown any pictures of the AG at this particular protest, so there's no reference to see who's who, or what's what. I could use my personal knowledge to label it better, but that's WP:OR. Normally, images are given some leeway with regards to "original research", since all self-made images are "original". But, given the defamatory potential here, I suggest not having this image. We don't need this image, since the article already has a good image, that was used by a mainstream media organization (which therefore verifies people as being members). Let me clarify: this user removed his own image because he's on a crusade to cover up a fact that he's not comfortable with: liberals/progressives/generic leftists that he sympathizes with marched side by side with Nazis, united by their shared anti-Semitic bigotry, only a year after these same leftists damned the same neo-Nazis. The image has been here for some time and he knows it, he's only decided to remove it now that I've pointed out that it is the ultimate evidence that my claim is true.

I pointed out that the only visual evidence to back it up is his own photo (irrrrrrrony!) so he's figured out how to deal with this problem: delete the photo. I won't make a case for keeping it, I'll leave it to people here to decide whether this is a genuine request to remove an image because it violates copyright or is redundant, or if it's just part of his project to keep the message the image conveys under wraps. --Simpsons contributor (talk) 23:41, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

• Delete "crusade to cover up"? Ya di da.... I removed the image from the article, and the caption "Calgary on January 10, 2009, roughly 1200 people protested against Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip. Roughly half a dozen were members or supporters of the Aryan Guard. Two are seen holding a defaced Israeli flag, surround by other, non-related protesters" My reasons 1) the image is not of "Aryan Guard‎" but of a pro-Palestinian rally. 2) Now, allegedly some of the figures (and not the most prominent) are neo-Nazis. How many? We don't know. And we can't verify if there were one, two, three, six or none. Now, ever if we skip over the WP:OR here, we still have an image of a march, which is a very poor help to the reader in understanding the article's subject. WP:BLP says negative allegations against living people need referenced. We have no references. Plus, there is a danger of implying that the most prominent people in the photo are or are associating with Nazis.
