Note: I recently was informed that this page looks like crap in Firefox. Not sure why, as it works just fine in Safari, which is what I use. I may try to fix it at some point.

If you're unhappy with some admin-ish thing I've done...

...I'd recommend you drop me a line on my talk page.

Actually, I'd recommend you take a deep breath, make sure I actually did screw up (entirely possible), then drop me a line.

Please, do not email me about admin stuff; I try to keep everything on-wiki if at all possible. If I've blocked you, there's always {{unblock}}; I also keep all blocked user talk pages on my watchlist, and will check back on them a few hours after I've left my notice.

Also, I am open to administrator recall. To see my criteria for recall, read User:EVula/opining/admin recall.

My admin info!

History

I was made an administrator on November 7, 2006. My RfA closed with a vote of 62/0/0. Near as I can tell, I'm admin #1,047.

My first RfB was closed as non-consensus on July 1, 2007; the second was also closed as non-consensus on 24 December, 2007. My third RfB passed (122/1/2) on 3 June, 2008.

I was granted Oversight privs after my election on February 16, 2009.

  • Kendall mayfield (talk · contribs · deleted · filter log · SUL · Google) (block · soft · promo · cause · bot · hard · spam · vandal) – Violation of the username policy as a misleading username. Name of a real person, Ken Mayfield. BilCat (talk) 23:54, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
What I don't know is whether this person is famous enough to be impersonated, vs this just being a common name. They seem to be a bit obscure and not that successful 1970s basketball player. Secretlondon (talk) 13:15, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
Not a blatant violation of the username policy. They haven't edited the Ken Mayfield article or even about basketball more generally. As Secretlondon notes, this could just be a similar name. 331dot (talk) 10:42, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
  • DylanHayhurstOfficial (talk · contribs · deleted · filter log · SUL · Google) (block · soft · promo · cause · bot · hard · spam · vandal) – Violation of the username policy as a promotional username. Theroadislong (talk) 21:26, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
Real names are fine, and there is nothing promotional anyway. Secretlondon (talk) 21:38, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
Not a violation of the username policy. Real names are permitted except when they imply that the editor is a specific living person they are not. Consider filing a report at the conflict of interest noticeboard. While "official" can suggest a representative is the account operator, or that the account is shared, we only worry about that if the given name has a Wikipedia article; we don't block without warning for potential shared use absent evidence it's shared. 331dot (talk) 10:41, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
