Prior to the 2024–25 season, Duk failed to report back to the club for pre-season training. The club subsequently confirmed that Duk was absent without leave and would be proceeding with disciplinary measures against the player.[6]
On 7 September 2024, Aberdeen confirmed that Duk had rejoined first team training. He stated: “I would like to sincerely apologise to everyone associated with Aberdeen for my absence over the last period. I deeply regret being away. I am grateful to the Club, the manager, my teammates and supporters for giving me a chance. I will work hard every day to try and help the team".
