An Ogiso is referred to by the people of the Igodomigodo kingdom as "king of the sky."[1] This is a list of the independent Ogisos (Kings) of Igodomigodo, which later became the Benin Kingdom from sometime in the 10th or 11th century to the mid or late 12th century.[2][3] The Ogiso dynasty was said to have been founded by a son of Oduduwa.[4] During their reign, Edo lands were called 'Igodomigodo,' with administrative centers initially at Ugbeku, Udo and current day Benin City.
