Summary

Description

This rare piece of jewellery of king Tutankhamun was found in his intact KV62 tomb by Egyptologists in the 1920s and either depicts a conquered and defeated enemy surrounded on both sides by the Egyptian cobra—a symbol of Egyptian state power or the deity Heh (god). The jewellery is made of elegant semi-precious stones and was placed on display at the “TUTANKHAMUN: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh” exhibition at Paris, France in February 2020.

Today, the Treasures of Tutankhamun have been moved from the old c.1902 Egyptian Museum in Cairo to the ultra-modern Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza which is scheduled to have its official opening on July 3, 2025 according to Al-Ahram newspaper.[1]
