English: The spectacular explosion of AC-5 in March 1965 left Pad 34A a mass of blackened rubble.
Français : Explosion de la fusée Atlas Centaur AC-5 (vol de qualification de l'étage Centaur) le 3 mars 1965 sur le Pard 34 A de Cap Canaveral. L'accident fut provoqué à la suite d'une défaillance d'un capteur alors que le lanceur était à 1,5 mètres du sol. L'alimentation des moteurs fut coupée et la fusée retomba sur le sol en explosant. L'aire de lancement fut durablement endommagée.
