Holy Terror is a heavy metal music band originally from Los Angeles, California. The band was started 1985 by Mike Alvord (guitar), Kurt Colfelt (guitar), Floyd Flanary (bass), Keith Deen (vocals), Jack Schwartz (drum).
Biography
Early years (1985-1991)
After a largely positive review of the initial demo, the band was able to secure a contract with Music for Nations, resulting in the first studio album, 'Terror and Submission'. However, the recording process was not to the likings of the band members. This is also the first stage at which band members were exchanged: Jack Schwartz is replaced by Joe Mitchell. The band continues with English label Road Racer, where they sign a contract for 5 records; the first album is included in the deal. A European tour is scheduled after the 2nd album "Mind Wars". During the European tour with Exodus (American band) and Nuclear Assault an argument with the label ends the contract and prematurely ends the tour for Holy Terror..[1]
Reformation (2005-2008)
After an absence of years, Holy Terror releases an album 'El Revengo' and start to tour again. The album contains tracks from their debut album 'Terror and Submission', the whole 'Mindwars'album and live tracks performed in Belgium, Italy and Floride. Additionally there is a DVD that has three live sets, a video for Judas' Reward and a slide show.[2] The lineup has changed to Kurt Colfelt (guitar), Jeff Matz (bass), Chris Tetton (vocals), Joe Mitchell (drum) and Matt Fox (guitar)[3]. Chris, who has left the band in 2007, is not mentioned as an official bandmember.[4] In the 'official' facebook page maintained by, amongst others, Mike Alvord, Keith Deen is still mentioned as vocalist [5] although Keith passed away in 2012.[6]
- Band name
The band name refers to a slang term used for a problem child and was also appreciated for its religous overtones.[7]
