Deli Group (simplified Chinese: 得力集团; traditional Chinese: 得力集團), fully referred to as Deli Group Co., Ltd., commonly known as Deli,[1] is a Chinese stationery maker[3] founded by Fujun Lou in 1981.[4] The company focuses on the fields of office and school supplies.[5] It owns several sub-brands, including Deli Tools, Deli Plus, Deli Genius, Agnite, Nusign, and Dmast.[6] As of October 2018, it was the largest stationery manufacturer in Asia.[7] The company also set up product design centers in Shanghai, Seoul, and Tokyo.[8]

In addition to stationery products, Deli also manufactures office equipment, sporting goods, and tools.[6] Headquartered in Ningbo, it also established operations in overseas markets, such as India,[9] Indonesia,[10] and Malaysia.[11] In February 2019, the company became a supplier to the United Nations Population Fund.[12] In September 2024, it broke ground for its new stationery factory in Vietnam, with a total investment of $270 million.[13]

In 2021, Deli made the 2021 China's Top 500 Private Enterprises List.[14] It was included in the List again in 2023[15] and 2024.[16] According to research firm IBISWorld, as of February 2023, it was ranked first in terms of market share in the stationery and office supplies manufacturing industry in China.[17] In October 2024, the company was listed as one of the key players in the global office stationery market in a TechSci Research report.[18]

History

Deli was formed in 1981. In 1995, the Deli brand was officially launched. In 1997, Fujun Lou established Ningbo Deli Group Co., Ltd., which was positioned as a comprehensive stationery supplier.[19] In 1998, it entered the overseas market.[6]

In 2011, Deli signed a strategic cooperation with Jingdong.[20] In 2015, the company forayed into the printer industry.[21] In 2016, its Warsaw and Chicago branches were set up.[6]

In October 2016, Deli Group founded Deli Tools,[22] which is a tool brand whose main products are power tools, hand tools, gardening tools, and accessories.[6] In 2017, the sales of the company reached 10 billion yuan.[19]

In 2018, Deli introduced laser and inkjet printers.[23] In October, it collaborated with India-based Linc.[24] In the same year, the company ventured into the Indonesian market.[25] In May 2019, it set up a JV with Japanese stationery maker PLUS.[26]

In 2018, Deli Group established its overseas production base in Vietnam and formed the Deli Vietnam Company Limited, and it began building its factory in July 2019. The company is based in Bac Ninh, Vietnam, its products cover more than 40 categories including school supplies, glue, whiteboards, stationery for school, and electronic calculators. [27]

On September 28, 2024, Deli Group held a groundbreaking ceremony for its Hai Duong factory in the Dai An Industrial Zone, Vietnam, attended by key officials including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau, and Deli Group President Lou Fuan. The Hai Duong factory covers an area of 212480 square meters with a total investment of $270 million, expected to be completed by March 2026 and to begin production in the first half of 2026. This project represents not only an expansion of Deli’s production in Vietnam but also a new breakthrough in the scale of the Group's overseas investment.[28]

A new sports brand designed by a top German design team, was launched by Deli Group in April 2017. The production line of Agnite covers basketball, football, volleyball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, fitness supplies, swimming supplies, sports protection products, and other categories.[32]
