Dayton Township is located in LaSalle County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 2,279 and it contained 891 housing units.[2]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 21.34 square miles (55.3 km2), of which 21.09 square miles (54.6 km2) (or 98.83%) is land and 0.24 square miles (0.62 km2) (or 1.12%) is water.[2]
