I mostly edit articles relating to Indo-Islamic history, with a particular focus on the Mughal Empire.
I'm an advocate of beefing up that first revision; if you're creating new articles, put effort into demonstrating the article's notability, and collect/organize as much information as you can. If you instead focus on making stub articles, they will likely stay stubs for an indefinite period of time, especially if the topic is niche; until they grow, they are not too useful to the average reader. Basically, don't hope the house will build itself. At the same time, have fun and don't pressure yourself too much; you're not obligated to make the best possible article with every attempt.

There isn't a great tool to track article authorship by user. The XTools authorship tool will show you authorship by page. An imperfect substitute would be the XTools top edits tool, which can report on the most-edited articles by a user for a given namespace and date range. My top edits on the English Wikipedia mainspace are found here.
