Usha Martin University is a private university located in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India set up by Usha Martin. Usha Martin University was set up in 2012 vide Usha Martin University, Jharkhand Act 2012 and is duly recognised by the University Grants Commission as a private university.^[1][2][3]

Founded in 2012, under the Jharkhand Act Usha Martin University aimed to fill the gap between industrial relevance and academic excellence. The University has been the house of many programs ranging from under-graduate programs, post graduate programs ,diploma programs including Research programs and Management studies. • 1st Convocation

The first convocation of Usha Martin University was held on Thursday, 4th May 2023 at its campus in Narayan Sahu, Ranchi. The chief guest of the convocation was Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan. Also present were the university's Vice-Chancellor Prabhat Kumar, Pro-Chancellor Suresh Garg, Vice-Chancellor Madhulika Kaushik and University President Hemant Goyal. They were accompanied by Vice-Chancellors and Registrars of all universities in Jharkhand on the occasion. The university conferred degrees to a total of 577 students. The university also felicitated 18 gold medalists for postgraduate and undergraduate courses. The university also conferred D Litt degree (honoris causa) to Anand Kumar, founder of Super 30 who is also a recipient of the Padma Shri award. D Litt. (Honorary Degree) was also conferred. Basant Kumar Jhawar, Chairman of Usha Martin Group and is among the founding members of Usha Martin University. The Governor encouraged the students to apply what they have learned and nurture their entrepreneurial skills to emerge as job creators. He lauded Usha Martin University for promoting academic excellence by maintaining and upholding discipline, dedication and moral values. The Governor also appreciated the contribution of UMU in the progress and development of the state and called upon the degree recipients to work for the society and the nation. During the convocation, the Vice Chancellor presented the annual report in which he spoke about the development of infrastructure in the permanent campus. He emphasized on the development of the university. He also thanked the state government for supporting various development activities of the university. The Vice Chancellor mentioned that the University has made great strides in research and development recently. He also highlighted other major developments including eminent personalities, publications, research collaborations, awards conferred and student activities and their placements. A glittering medal and award ceremony was also part of the convocation, with Koyalada Dipankar, Deepshikha, G Jaya Lakshmi, Megha Kumari, Raj Soni, Mary Jarman Ekka, Pandey Abhishek Nath Roy, Krishna Kumar Singh, Jagrut Roy, Mohammed Yasir Arafat, Roshan Raj Prajapati, Indrajit Yadav, Krishna Kuma Singh, Ghazala Parveen, Abhinav Kumar Gupta, Govinda Giri, Rakhi Kumari, Puran Boipai and Chandan Kumar receiving gold medals for their outstanding academic performance.

• 2nd Convocation

On April 5, 2024, Usha Martin University hosted its second convocation ceremony at its campus in Ranchi'sNarayansoso. The occasion was graced by Padma Vibhushan Dr. R.A. Mashelkar as the Chief Guest, along with eminent dignitaries like Chancellor Shri Prabhat Kumar, Pro-Chancellor Prof. Suresh Garg, Vice Chancellor Prof. Madhulika Kaushik, and Chairman Shri Hemant Goyal. Among the 275 students whose academic accomplishments were honored at the ceremony,were 9 students who were conferred gold medal.18 students received their Ph.D degrees. Along with 165 undergraduates and post graduate degree holders and 83 diploma recipients.
