Cartography Department

Some people may like to get involved with the Former Countries project, but are more interested in just creating maps rather than working on the text content of entries on historical countries. If you are one of these people, the Cartography Department is the place for you.

For maps, each entry requires at least a map showing the location of the country under discussion (for the infobox). More detailed maps (showing major cities, etc) are also handy.

This department will liase with other relevant projects and departments, such as WP historical atlas and WP Military History - Cartography Dept.

There is currently a large backlog of articles in need of maps (hovering in mid-80's). If any mapmakers are interested in making maps for the articles in the category above, please sign up in the box above. Thank you.
