I understand the need to revert unconstructive edits made by IP editors.

But to decapitate someone is to cut off their head. There is no such thing as a "decapitated head" unless one is Zaphod Beeblebrox. What Bhai Jiwan Singh transported was a severed head. DS (talk) 21:43, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I was focused on that IP user's uncited claims when I reverted them that I did not notice the decapitation/severance distinction they had corrected. I will be more careful going forward. I did a very minor edit of Hira Singh's Legacy and I'd like to post the image Valentine Princep did of him around 1879. I copied it from Princep's travelogue of that time. Could you help me post it? My Wikipedia editing skills are rather minimal. I am slowly studying Sikh history in the Cis-Sutlej mainly because my guru was born near Bhatinda in 1926 and in World War Two served in 1st Patiala infantry. Hi @LFlagg, Valentine Princep's work should be in the public domain so feel free to upload the image-copy over at Wikimedia Commons using the tag PD-old-100. After the image is uploaded onto Wikimedia Commons, you can insert the image wherever you want on a Wikipedia article. Here are relevant tutorials:
