Question from Dr.Luftkatze (11:47, 10 February 2026)

Hello! I hope this message finds you well! I have a question regarding sources in other languages than the article's: Can foreign language sources be cited? I assume not, as it would make reviewing these sources complicated? Related to that: what if the same wiki article in another language has a more accurate source, but in a foreign language? To speak with an example: The article about Will McBride is such a case. The German article has the correct place of death backed up by a German source, the English article states incorrectly that he died in U.S. and the English source only states that he died. What to do? Search for a English source with correct information? Or is there another way? Thanks! --Dr.Luftkatze (talk) 11:47, 10 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Non-English sources are allowed! It's harder to review, of course, but the goal is to create a better encyclopedia. If the information is more accurate in another language, use that source. Hope this helps. Cheers :-) LR.127 (talk) 13:25, 10 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Great! Thanks for the quick answer! Dr.Luftkatze (talk) 14:29, 10 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from VorpalKnowledge (01:53, 12 February 2026)

Hello!

I’m new here and I’m curious to have some advice. I suggested an edit to the entry on Supply and Demand (copied below)—if no one responds or takes the initiative to implement it, should I make the edit? It is absurd that this topic doesn’t mention the formal disproof (Sonnenschein-Mantel-Debreu theorem) of the microeconomic basis for supply and demand in this article. However, this is a more advanced edit and possibly controversial (although no one contests the SMD theorem), so would you like to advise?

“The Sonnenschein–Mantel–Debreu theorem demonstrated that individual preferences do not aggregate into the near downward sloping pattern shown in these curves or settle on a unique point of equilibrium. It is a proof that Supply and Demand is misguided (or at least, presently unfounded on a theoretical level) and this should be mentioned in the introduction to this article.

Although the SMD theorem was proven in the 1970s, it is consistently not taught in conjunction with S&D, leaving Econ students (and others) unaware that there is anything wrong with the theory. The people deserve to know! The advancement of knowledge will not occur without them being taught together.“

Many thanks! VorpalKnowledge --VorpalKnowledge (talk) 01:53, 12 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

This seems like something you can put on the talk page of supply and demand. If you're planning on using all the content marked in quotes, then that's definitely not appropriate for an article.
There's already an article on Sonnenschein–Mantel–Debreu theorem that goes into more detail. If you want to find a way to simply link that theorem in the supply and demand article, that might work better. People who want to read more detail would go to that theorem directly. Hope this helps. Cheers :-) LR.127 (talk) 12:50, 12 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your reply! The quoted text was what I posted on the “talk” section of that page. There isn’t much interaction here, however. I can see if I can find a simple way to add the theorem to the page. Thanks for your support. VorpalKnowledge (talk) 02:39, 22 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Tenpasten (22:20, 12 February 2026)

Hi there, I saw that you are my mentor. I'm trying to create a Wikipedia page for a former colleague of mine. I submitted a draft, and based on feedback would like to resubmit a revised draft but I can't find a way to do it. I'm not a novice tech person, but I find navigating Wikipedia very difficult. Can you help? Thank you. --Tenpasten (talk) 22:20, 12 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Clicking "edit" or "edit source" on Draft:Stephen L. Hurst will put you back in the edit screen to make your revisions.
I've made a few of my own edits to your draft. Take a look and change it as necessary. I would recommend steering away from press releases and other sources that are not independent, but I'm sure any feedback you've gotten from others will be helpful as well. Cheers :-) LR.127 (talk) 23:29, 12 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there LR.127. First, pleasure to e-meet you. Thank you so much for your reply and the edits you made. With regards to using press releases, I understand and appreciate your concern. I would prefer not to use them, but they do provide some way to corroborate what transpired and often these documents, especially if they're coming from a public company, are notoriously checked to ensure that the claims being made are true in order to ensure they are not sued for misrepresentation. I haven't received any specific feedback so far, which makes 'correcting' this entry difficult. I made two small edits now and I believe it is good to go from my end. Is there anything else I need to do now, or do I wait to hear back? Sorry, but this is very new for me and I'm having a tough time navigating and understanding the next steps. Tenpasten (talk) 18:44, 13 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia has loads of information pages - you might be able to get more specific advice by submitting your draft to the Articles for creation project. I can help you set that up if you'd like. LR.127 (talk) 01:14, 14 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
That would be wonderful if you could help me. I'm simply looking to post my first article and I'm finding this process of posting to Wikipedia quite daunting. Everything from the article creation thru the review process in getting it approved. To help ensure that the writing is neutral and sources provided to back up the claims are in order, the article tone and reference review has also been checked through an AI engine. Any and all guidance would grateful. Thank you. Tenpasten (talk) 20:11, 16 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Done. I admit Wikipedia's systems are daunting and technical, and I hope that other users of this platform can help you throughout your draft-making process. LR.127 (talk) 20:18, 16 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! I saw the submission. Many thanks for your help her, very much appreciated.  :) Tenpasten (talk) 20:26, 16 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from GiacomoNeilsen (17:47, 23 February 2026)

Hi there...I need to add a reference to our pageant page for the year 2007 but I'm also not sure how to go about adding the reference. Any assistance would be great. --GiacomoNeilsen (talk) 17:47, 23 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Do you want to use your website as a source for the Miss Star International article? If you're using the visual editor (where the edit screen looks similar to the final result), there's an easy Cite button that has support for websites and similar references. Fill in the necessary details and place that citation at the end of whatever fact comes from it. Hope this helps. Cheers :-). LR.127 (talk) 19:16, 23 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, actually it's both our website and a YouTube clip for verification of a winner but I think I have figured it out. GiacomoNeilsen (talk) 19:19, 23 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
