Help with Soul GA nomination

Hi, @Justiyaya! Since we last spoke, I have successfully promoted 2 articles to GA level (those being Religious responses to the problem of evil and classical theism).

Now, I am working with two other editors on improving the article about Soul. However, we have run into two big problems that aren't related with the contents of the article, but rather with its presentation: italics and blue links. The entire article has very inconsistent usage of them. If you have a bit of time, I would be extremely grateful if you helped fixed these things in that article. Brent Silby (talk) 20:51, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Brent Silby, that is excellent news and great progress! I think I will be quite busy in the next month or so and will be on WikiBreak unfortunately. If I have a moment I would certainly try to. Happy editing! Justiyaya 00:31, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Can you help me review Draft:Wikipedia:Project S.C.R.A.M.. I don't if such pages should be created via AFC. Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 04:21, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Cactusisme, AfC is definitely not the right place for Wikipedia namespace pages (AfC stands for articles for creation). I've never really edited humorous WP namespace pages before but I do believe that as long as it's socially acceptable and at least somewhat helpful / relating to Wikipedia it should be fine. Do ask somewhere else if you want an actual opinion though. I am on Wikibreak at the moment and I have only taken a very brief glance of the page you linked. Justiyaya 09:23, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello Justiyaya:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Goodjellymusic1 (01:25, 8 June 2025)

Hi there. I feel there is a number of political debates about my country that I can prove are incorrect. Meaning both sides. I have a political party that is benevolent and I;d like to add. First my concern is the write ups about the victims of oppressions and targeted invdividuals, victims of ..dissents etc having pages that question weather this is delusional people being encouraged by engaging sites, or if it is real. I think both, but the queestion these days shouldn;t be weather it is real or not. Many can prove it is real but gangstalkers and govts don;t want us to know. Basically I'm saying, in short..that you have gangstalkers and terrorists and psychopaths developing pages to have victims doubted. This is harsh and people die, after being blamed, tortured, and slandered. They are at unrest. Thank you for your advice in what approach i can take to end this corruption to sites, including ai information, so please don't take it personally. --Goodjellymusic1 (talk) 01:25, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Goodjellymusic1, sorry, but your message is quite difficult to understand and I don't think I fully understood what you are trying to communicate. I would generally recommend looking briefly though neutrality and verifiability as I think you can benefit from understanding the basics on what Wikipedia content is based off of. Typically, articles take death counts from reliable sources of information.
If you have concerns over a specific page or edit, please link it or give me the article name. Otherwise, I really could not help much. It would also be helpful for you to mention specifically what change you propose and a reliable source that supports your edit. Justiyaya 17:24, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Thwd-lorax (21:40, 9 June 2025)

Hi there, I'm wondering what are the requirements to create a new wikipedia page? I've got one that I'm working on in my sandbox but I'm not sure how to actually get that onto a live page. thanks in advance --Thwd-lorax (talk) 21:40, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Thwd-lorax Writing a new article is one of the harder things for new users to accomplish but I've glanced at your draft and it looks very well written. I've put an articles for creation template on the page and done some minor cleanup, you can click the blue button when you are done with it to submit it for a review. Alternatively, you can also drop me a message here and I'll take a look. I have a very basic understanding of the topic, so if you would like someone with expertise to do a review, try Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemistry.
Adding inline citations on the "Discovery and Background" section could be helpful for verifiability. Also, if this applies to you, you might want to take a glance on the guideline for citing your own published works. Please drop me a message here if you need any help, happy editing! Justiyaya 01:32, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Justiyaya, thanks for the information. I've just submitted the article for review...would you mind elaborating on what you mean by in-line citations? thanks again Thwd-lorax (talk) 03:58, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Thwd-lorax, thanks for submitting your article. I've moved it to Draft:AsqJ which is preferred for pending AFC submissions. I meant inline citations by the footnotes like the ones present in the rest of the article. Justiyaya 04:41, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Thwd-lorax Article was accepted by SafariScribe and I marked it as patrolled. I added a tag on the section. You can remove it after you've added citations to it. Thanks again for your article, looking forward to next one! Happy editing :D Justiyaya 08:54, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

How can I creat article which will approved easily. --Kabilavutto (talk) 10:35, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kabilavutto, welcome to Wikipedia! You've asked a quite broad question and I need more details (like what subject you intend to write the article on, what sources you have gathered) to provide a more specific answer. In general, Help:Your first article is quite a good place to start. However, I believe most new articles by newer users end up not being published, especially if you have a conflict of interest with the subject. It is likely to be a waste of time and if you are interested in contributing in general, I would recommend going through Help:Introduction and picking a task in our WP:Task Center. Justiyaya 10:49, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Do you think I should accept this draft? I made some changes to it. Cactus🌵 spiky ouch 09:55, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya, can you give me the three best sources? I'm out right now. I'll take a more thorough look when I get to a computer regardless but I think it'd help. Prose looks good at a glance. Justiyaya 10:10, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Cactusisme User that wrote the draft appears to have an undisclosed paid COI as its production company. You should ask for a WP:DISCLOSURE and name change from the submitter. (consider enabling XTools: dynamically show statistics about a page's history under the page heading) in preferences and gadgets to show page creator if you'd like to spot it without clicking in the history.
Sourcing wise,
  1. NFI looks to be a government source, probably not secondary.
  2. BBC appears to be online streaming for the film, not really useable
  3. The film's website (not independent)
  4. A festivalcinemambiente listing of the film
  5. The homepage of the ficmec film festival
  6. ticket website for a screening of the film (barnefilmfestivalen)
  7. Thessaloniki Film Festival
  8. I'm not sure about the cinemateket source, a machine translation does not seem to show any coverage beyond a synopsis
  9. another film festival
So there does not appear to be a single source surrounding that actually meets WP:GNG. I've declined the draft for now and will leave a message on COIs and stuff. Justiyaya 13:35, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also, two weeks ago, you've listed me as your adopter. I was either on wikibreak or just out of wikibreak and forgot to respond. I'm completely cool with that now that you have gotten a very nice start here, but I'm not as active as when you first asked me in January. If you'd like a more guided experience, you could ask someone else. If you want to continue on asking me for second opinions and questions, I'll come on line to respond fairly quickly. Question from Kabilavutto (11:37, 17 June 2025)

I want to creat an article about a living person. I know him from IMDB. This is the link: https://m.imdb.com/name/nm12663203/ Is this possible to create a biography about him with this IMDB Reference? --Kabilavutto (talk) 11:37, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kabilavutto, we don't usually use WP:IMDB as a source for anything really. The draft is already rejected, I wouldn't suggest continuing with the draft as it's quite unlikely that it'd go anywhere Justiyaya 13:48, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
What type of website usually accepted as source to create a biography? Kabilavutto (talk) 13:54, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Kabilavutto only reliable sources, WP:RSPS list good (and bad) examples. The draft is rejected though, which usually means we won't consider it any further. Justiyaya 14:03, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
also, WP:Autobiography is a good essay that might apply. Justiyaya 14:03, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @AlexandraCFishman, the edit was reverted by Gatemansgc. We typically don't name authors inline but instead use footnotes as citations. While citing your own published works are permitted here, excessive citations or importance placed on your works is against policy. (WP:SELFCITE) If you are placing your own name inline, I would imagine that it'd be a more clear cut conflict of interest. I would advise against pursuing this further. If you would like to make contributions to Wikipedia and join the group of volunteer editors behind it, I would recommend looking at Help:Introduction and then completing some tasks at the task center. Hi Jrtaaron, welcome to Wikipedia! I've placed a template on the top of the page and you can click the blue button that says "submit this draft for review!" when you are ready. I would not advise doing so now, many of the sources appear to be unusable and there may be problems with notability. We typically don't include self published content like the Price Power List or British LGBT awards (Anyone can make a website like that and typically it's not significant). We don't use articles by Forbes contributors (which are not their paid staff writers). Some sources might be usable though. Writing a new article is quite difficult for newer editors, would you consider trying another task in the task center. Feel free to ask any additional questions! Happy editing. Treemarsupial's mentor ToadetteEdit is away.

Hi "ToadetteEdit" and "Justiyaya" hope you're well! I'm trying to make sure my article is all good based on our past chats and your suggestions. I thought a lot about it and worked on it over the past month, and I just added my edits to it. When you get a chance, could you take a look? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Corporate_gifting_platform I'm interested in this industry and it being a human resources and marketing technology, I think there is an info gap on Wikipedia about it. Would love to finally publish it. Thank you for your time and help! --Treemarsupial (talk) 16:23, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Treemarsupial, welcome to Wikipedia! The most glaring issue I see are the sources that are being used. A majority of them appear to be Forbes articles and press releases that are paid by the authors to be published. We typically don't use them here on Wikipedia since we don't consider them as reliable. I'm also wondering if it would better belong as a subsection somewhere. Writing a new article is very difficult for new users, and I would always recommend contributing to a different area when you are just starting out. Feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions! Justiyaya 00:31, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Justiyaya, thank you so much for taking the time to review and help me! Really appreciate your feedback as I'm learning how things work here. I've been contributing edits now for a while and would love an opportunity to "graduate" into doing a more impactful work and publishing something. But I digress. I now see your point about Forbes. I thought it was a valuable publication but I can see how some of it could be influenced by the industry, you're right. What about articles like this one, written by their official staff writer https://www.adweek.com/brand-marketing/corporate-gifting-b-to-b-marketers/ ? The point of this new page I'm trying to create is not to promote any specific company but to give a wider view of the business area and a US$1 trillion market. I see wikipedia already has individual articles for various companies falling under this industry but there is no overarching page about the industry itself. For example, Snappy Gifts? Treemarsupial (talk) 15:54, 19 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Treemarsupial, I'm quite sure the trade magazine you linked is good to use and I see your point about various companies falling under this industry. I'll be happy to help with the article if you have more reliable sources covering it and if you are willing to rewrite the article based on those sources. The theory behind this is that (English) Wikipedia should be based on what reliable sources say and if there aren't much reliable sources we should not have a stand alone article. I would much rather make sure that you have the multiple reliable sources that are required for an article than having you write it first and it never be published. If you're willing to post them below I'll be happy to take a look. That being said, your account is still very young in terms of edits and you shouldn't consider making new articles (especially in this topic area) as more impactful than other maintenance work on the list :) Happy editing! Question from Swalker40 (16:47, 22 July 2025)

How do I publish my page? --Swalker40 (talk) 16:47, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Swalker40, welcome to Wikipedia. Typically, writing an autobiography about yourself is strongly discouraged. This site is written and moderated by volunteer editors (with few exceptions) and we don't accept promotional content and very little content written with a conflict of interest. If you'd like to delete it, say so. If you would like to contribute here, you might be interested in helping improve some of the pages under WP:Wikiproject Psychology or WP:WikiProject Business (we also have a policy on citing your own papers that might apply to you). Question from Watch boffin (19:56, 24 July 2025)

I'm afraid I screwed up royally on my attempted edit--sorry! I need a lot more help, I think, before I try this again. But I'm not sure what's visible to regular Wiki folks... Thanks for any help you can offer. --Watch boffin (talk) 19:56, 24 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Watch boffin, I've fixed it for you. The article itself looks to be in bad shape, I'll see what I can do to fix it. Please don't be afraid of making mistakes, especially when you are just starting out. It's almost impossible to break something that can't be easily fixed as a new user. Tell me when it happens and I'd take a look. In this case, you forgot the closing brackets (}}) and </ref> tag that should be placed at the end of the citation. I'd recommend newer editors to try out the WP:Visual editor when starting out as this could get a bit complicated. Justiyaya 20:11, 24 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from MountainWriter42 (11:38, 26 July 2025)

Hey I have created a new article page of Nepali Literary figure . Help it to publish , all the things are great and create via using popular Nepali media sources. Previous it got rejected but I have recreated it with strong sources and this should be published because this people belongs to Nepali ideal literature figure of contemporary Nepali society. --MountainWriter42 (talk) 11:38, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MountainWriter42, Qcne has rejected the draft before it was deleted. This means that continuing to submit it is likely a waste of your time. I would recommend writing him a short message providing 3 reliable sources that give in depth, secondary coverage to your subject if you really think it's notable. I'm unfamiliar with Nepali sources and I don't think I can make a good evaluation of them. Justiyaya 13:40, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
presenting this issue , what can i do for this, I think using reverse I have to create via English article sources. MountainWriter42 (talk) 13:44, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@MountainWriter42 Which draft are you talking about? Draft:Chandra Kafle ? qcne (talk) 13:46, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
yeah , Draft:Chandra Kafle MountainWriter42 (talk) 13:47, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@MountainWriter42 I've looked at each of those sources, unfortunately none of them are strong enough to prove this person meets Wikipedia:Notability (people). The draft is therefore not suitable for publication at this time. qcne (talk) 13:51, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Via multiple news outlets , It has proven that he had written different kinds poem and articles , eg , via : setopati.com , onlinekhabar.com , these are highly reputable online platforms in Nepal. MountainWriter42 (talk) 13:54, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, let's go through each source one by one:
  1. चन्द्र काफ्लेः समकालीन नेपाली साहित्यका उज्यालो हस्ताक्षर - Nepali Network-Nepal's Digital Online A promotional, likely paid-for, article. This is not independent.
  2. Chandra's struggle in literature with studies A promotional, likely paid-for, article. This is not independent.
  3. जीवनकै मूल्यवान् पलहरू :: चन्द्र काफ्ले :: SetopatiHis poem, so a primary source. This is not independent.
  4. कविता : बाको सपना  – Online Khabar His poem, so a primary source. This is not independent.
  5. कविता : हराएको गाउँ  – Online Khabar His poem, so a primary source. This is not independent.

  7. कहिल्यै फर्किएर आउँदैन त्यो दसैं! :: चन्द्र काफ्ले :: Setopati His blog, so a primary source. This is not independent.
None of these sources are suitable to prove Wikipedia:Notability (people). qcne (talk) 13:58, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Those first two sources are likely paid-for sponsored pieces. They are therefore neither reliable or independent.

Hello!

I have a translation (english-portuguese) for a article that currently appears only in english Wikipedia. How can i contribute to create a corresponding article for portuguese Wikipedia? --Arsandrius (talk) 00:18, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Arsandrius, welcome to Wikipedia! I am not familiar with Portuguese Wikipedia but the question should be directed there, probably at pt:Ajuda:Tire suas dúvidas or perhaps using the newcomer homepage on that Wikipedia. Different language Wikipedias have a different set of policies, including the ones that decide what subjects should have an article. Asking there would likely be helpful in determining whether it is suitable there as well. Happy editing! Justiyaya 00:33, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Submission declined on 27 July 2025 by Qcne (talk). The content of this submission includes material that does not meet Wikipedia's minimum standard for inline citations. Please cite your sources using footnotes. For instructions on how to do this, please see Referencing for beginners. Thank you. Your draft shows signs of having been generated by a large language model, such as ChatGPT. Their outputs usually have multiple issues that prevent them from meeting our guidelines on writing articles. These include: Promotional tone, editorializing and other words to watch Vague, generic, and speculative statements extrapolated from similar subjects Essay-like writing Hallucinations (plausible-sounding, but false information) and non-existent references Close paraphrasing Please address these issues. The best way is usually to read reliable sources and summarize them, instead of using a large language model. See our help page on large language models. Question from Watch boffin (18:38, 28 July 2025)

Thanks for getting in touch. My own entry (not written by me!) needs a fair bit of attention. I don't have time to work on it right now, sorry. But what if I was to send you a copy of my proposed "new look" entry for your advice (when I could get around to it)? Would you be willing to check it for me and suggest how to remove the old one and replace it with a new one? Or is that not a good strategy? Should I just tinker with the existing one, making necessary changes here and there? Thanks, "watch boffin" --Watch boffin (talk) 18:38, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Watch boffin, thanks for reaching out. The policy for editing an article about yourself (I think this is what you mean by "own entry"?) is that you can only propose changes on the article's talk page. You should not edit it except in cases of obvious vandalism (WP:AUTOBIO). Talk pages are usually linked right beneath the article title (should be a blue "talk") and you should open a section there. Please place {{Edit COI}} in the section as well so it gets reviewed. I'll be happy to take a look if I have time. I'm guessing they usually get answered in a few weeks anyways.
A good strategy is usually to propose smaller changes so reviewers can easily apply them. They should be well sourced and neutral (not promotional) and the justification should be succinct. The sources usually needs to be secondary and from a reliable source but in limited cases we allow self published sources from the subject themselves (WP:ABOUTSELF). Wikipedia:Guide to effective COI edit requests is a more thorough guide. Feel free to ask additional questions if you need it! Justiyaya 19:01, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Guideline and policy news

  • Following a request for comment, a new speedy deletion criterion, G15, has been enacted. It applies to pages generated by a large language model (LLM) without human review.
  • Following a request for comment, there is a new policy outlining the granting of permissions to view the IP addresses of temporary accounts. Temporary account deployment on the English Wikipedia is currently scheduled for September 2025, and editors can request access to the permission ahead of time. Admins are encouraged to keep an eye on the request page; there will likely be a flood of editors requesting the permission when they realize they can no longer see IP addresses.

Technical news

  • Administrators can now restrict the "Add a Link" feature to newcomers. The "Add a Link" Structured Task helps new account holders get started with editing. Administrators can configure this setting in the Community Configuration page.

Arbitration

  • The arbitration case Indian military history has been closed.
    • South Asia (WP:CT/SA) is designated a contentious topic. The topic area is specifically defined as All pages related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups.
    • The contentious topic designations for Sri Lanka (SL) and India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan (IPA) are folded into this new contentious topic.
    • The community-authorized general sanctions regarding South Asian social groups (GS/CASTE) are rescinded and folded into this new contentious topic.
  • The arbitration case Article titles and capitalisation 2 has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case closed on 31 July.
  • The arbitration case Transgender healthcare and people has been opened. Evidence submissions in this case will close on 11 August.

Miscellaneous

  • Wikimania 2025 is happening in Nairobi, Kenya, and online from August 6 to August 9. This year marks 20 years of Wikimania. Interested users can join the online event. Registration for the virtual event is free and will remain open throughout Wikimania. You can register here now.

Question from Swing gators (07:58, 29 August 2025)

Yo, how can i make my own article on a person here?. --Swing gators (talk) 07:58, 29 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Swing gators, biographies of living people as your first article is one of the hardest things you can do here as a beginner. I would recommend doing some of the WP:TASKS first to get some experience. That being said, looking through WP:YFA and WP:BLP is a good place to start. Make sure that the subject meets the notability standards (which has a confusing mess of exceptions) which is briefly that the subject has three reliable, published, secondary sources providing in depth coverage independent of the subject. If you do decide to pursue this, I'll be happy to check your sourcing before you start. Having not met the notability guidelines is where most articles fail and it'd be often a huge waste of time if that occurs. Justiyaya 12:29, 29 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Markstusk (20:07, 31 August 2025)

I’d like to know if my draft about Brayan Borges is good and whether it follows the standards of the Wikipedia community? --Markstusk (talk) 20:07, 31 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Markstusk Hello! Please do not remove declines & AfC records. A reviewer would when it is ready. I don't think the subject is notable and I would suggest pursuing something else if you would like to contribute here. I think it's unlikely that the article is going to be published. If you're writing an autobiography or with a conflict of interest, those policies may apply to you. Feel free to ask for additional advice! Most first articles do not go well. Justiyaya 20:52, 31 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for the response. I will improve and delve deeper into more notable articles. Markstusk (talk) 21:23, 31 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from 0401Stefan (15:09, 15 September 2025)

Hi. I am the label manager for Clutch's Weathermaker Music. Clutch's lead singer is Neil Fallon, who has a Wikipedia page. Neil asked me to find a way to delete the 2nd paragraph beginning with "In a 2016 interview, ..." under "Personal Life". Neil did not post this. Thank you. --0401Stefan (talk) 15:09, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @0401Stefan, thanks for the question. The subject of the article has little say over what is in their Wikipedia entries. That being said, the quote does seem too long and bulky. I think one sentence about his political beliefs is really the most an article should have unless the subject has significant involvement in it. If his beliefs has changed, this could also be reflected if there is a published source reflecting this (I'm not sure if WP:ABOUTSELF would apply here, but that'd also be something to consider). I'll ping JasonH1978 who added the section for their thoughts. Justiyaya 22:38, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
We're asking for that 2nd paragraph to simply be deleted. We don't want people interpreting what Neil said several years ago to make him look as though he is supporting Trump or not. Our polarized times are difficult enough. TY 2600:4041:428D:7E00:188F:2C8E:90A2:72E (talk) 23:29, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think there might be a case for that as well. I'll ask that you give the user that added it a moment to respond. I'd take a closer look in few days if nothing occurs. If I'm busy, there are also other avenues to raise concerns about biographies which I'll point you to. Justiyaya 23:54, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@0401Stefan I've removed the section directly. Sorry about the delay, I would have done so a lot earlier but I've forgotten. I don't think there is a good reason to include the paragraph if the only mention of it is briefly during one single interview, especially to have it take up so much space in the personal life section. Following the instructions at WP:BIOSELF would be a faster way to approach this, but asking me also works. Justiyaya 02:35, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! how do i create a page about someone that is not on wiki yet? --Joslynmaria (talk) 22:18, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Joslynmaria, making a new article on Wikipedia is one of the hardest things a beginner can do. I would recommend pursuing another task here to gain some experience first. Starting with writing a new article right away often leaves beginners discouraged so if you want to volunteer here, it's probably not the best place to start. If you still want to write a new article, take a look at WP:YFA. Justiyaya 22:40, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Note: TheBronzeFury's mentor IntentionallyDense is away.

How do I improve progress and possibly become an administrator so I can also access locked pages? --TheBronzeFury (talk) 15:57, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @TheBronzeFury, it's a bit too early in your editing journey to be thining about adminship. However, if you have changes that you would like to propose, go through the WP:requested edits process, an editor would review the changes you're proposing. Question from Yuxin Qiao (00:41, 6 October 2025)

Hello Justiyaya, It's a pleasure to have you as my mentor. About a month ago, I created a new article draft. I was wondering if you could advise on how to get it through the review process more quickly? Here is the link to the draft: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Shu_Qiao I look forward to your reply. Thank you for your help! (I'm not sure why the link doesn't work when clicked directly. Could you please copy it and reopen it manually? Thank you) --Yuxin Qiao (talk) 00:41, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Yuxin Qiao, you might want to remove all of the external links in the article. They are usually only allowed in the body of the article in very limited circumstances. Otherwise, there really isn't a way to expedite the review process, typical reviews take a month or two. If I have a spare hour next weekend I will make sure to take a look though. Justiyaya 02:31, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That's a point I didn't realize. I thought it would be better that way — my mistake. I'll make the changes right now. Thank you for the suggestion and your help! I understand the timeline now as well. Thanks a ton! Yuxin Qiao (talk) 22:38, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Privatus43 (14:32, 2 November 2025)

Beetle Bailey

1. Under "Further Reading" there is a list of published books. I would like to list the 89 paperback comic books, which are the largest and most homogeneous group, in a separate list. 2. Where can I find rules and instructions regarding fonts and font sizes? Sincerely, Privatus --Privatus43 (talk) 14:32, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Privatus43, welcome to Wikipedia! The list in the article seems quite long, I worry that some editors might think it is a bit excessive. Since they're already there, I can't see adding a heading/subsection as being harmful though. I would use a level 3 heading like ===name of subheading=== to separate the paperbacks you are suggesting. We do not typically manually set fonts and font sizes but instead rely on the default for consistency. Thanks for your contributions here and feel free ask more questions if needed! Question from BeaufortNoble (15:44, 8 November 2025)

> Hello Justiaya,

I’m deeply interested in history and historical investigations. I often research various cases independently — for example, the Johnstown case particularly fascinates me, and I’ve been studying it as an independent investigator.

My broader goal on Wikipedia is to contribute to the revision and correction of historical narratives, to make them more accurate and closer to real documented facts rather than the simplified or “winner-written” versions that have often dominated public history.

As my first contribution, I would like to focus on my verified ancestral line — Lady Margaret Beaufort, Countess of Devon (c. 1411–1449) and her daughter Lady Agnes Courtenay (c. 1448 – 1485/6), wife of Richard Saunders of Charlwood, Surrey.

This update is supported by multiple published genealogical and archival sources, including:

House of Beaufort – Courtenay Branch Lineage (Final v3, 2025 revision)

Visitations of Counties (Colby ed., 1895)

The Free Men of Charlwood (Charlwood Society, 2023)

ThePeerage.com and FamilySearch records.

I plan to update both related articles:

Thomas de Courtenay, 5th/13th Earl of Devon

Margaret Beaufort, Countess of Devon

My intent is to bring history closer to factual reality through verified corrections, proper sourcing, and careful contextualization — in line with Wikipedia’s mission of accuracy and neutrality.

Please let me know whether you recommend starting this work in a sandbox or editing the articles directly.

Thank you very much for your guidance and time.

— Ross Gerasi --BeaufortNoble (talk) 15:44, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@BeaufortNoble, that's a very interesting place to start editing. You seem to have most of the important things down but I would still recommend reviewing Help:Introduction. Afterwards, I would edit the pages directly. Please remember to cite your sources and write in a neutral, encyclopedic tone. Feel free to come back to ask more questions or feedback on your edits. Good luck and happy editing! Justiyaya 15:49, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please review and identify any items I may have missed? --Chewbacca2029 (talk) 04:14, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chewbacca2029, I don't think there is a flag / edit filter specifically for AI. There might be one for citing chatGPT or something like that. I could be wrong though. I think the edit has gone through, I will take a look in a moment. Justiyaya 04:42, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Chewbacca2029 I've taken a look at your edits on the page. Unfortunately, I had to revert to the page's previous version. I don't see sources that clearly supports the addition of Rachel Dolezal and the section on Reverse Passing as a part of this article. The article Racial misrepresentation (which is in the hatnote at the top of the page) seems to be a better location for what you are saying, which already contains a short listing about Dolezal. In addition, the citation you added only contains three sentences on Dolezal. You've written a longer section about her than what the source that you are referencing has. This brings up WP:BLP concerns. We try to be quite strict when writing biographies of living persons with our standards of neutrality and sourcing. I don't think the paragraph meets the standard for sourcing with wsj alone.
The court cases subsection definitely does not belong in the popular culture section. I would also question their inclusion in the article if there is only one or two sources mentioning it. Also, I can't find anything in the citation that supports "Some theories suggest that it was his alienation and struggle with his multiracial identity that contributed to his efforts to validate a white identity. Other theorists believed that the contradictions inherent in racial categorization were the primary cause of the problem". I'm removing that section as well because of the sourcing concerns.
If I've misinterpreted what you said or I'm incorrect/missed something above, please correct me. I'm always open to questions. Your version of the article is saved it the article history, which you can access via Special:Permalink/1321705728. Feel free to link to this comment if you need anything for the Wiki editing class. Hello sir I am from Pakistan can you help me I am new here and don't know how to post here my own article --Honeybintariq123 (talk) 06:38, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Honeybintariq123, it seems that your edits are made by AI. We generally don't think that using AI to write articles is a good idea. Making a new article as a new user is also a very hard thing to do. I would not recommend trying to do so as a first contribution. I would recommend making a few hundred edits by finding a task at the task center or by taking some time to review policy Help:Introduction could help with that. Question from Tiny rule of the sea (23:33, 18 November 2025)

How can I change the tittle of my sandbox? Or is that not possible --Tiny rule of the sea (talk) 23:33, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Tiny rule of the sea, you can move the sandbox to retitle it. That being said, I think writing a new article is quite difficult. Most of the time, it does not end up going that well. I would suggest taking a look at the conflict of interest (if this applies to you) and the notability guidelines. In brief, each article's subject should have multiple reliable secondary sources giving significant coverage to it for it to merit a stand alone page on Wikipedia. You should also back claims up with reliable secondary sources as well. If you have any additional questions, feel free to post them on this talk page! Justiyaya 00:02, 19 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Thekittyburger (02:41, 20 November 2025)

Hi, I wanted to ask if it would be appropriate to make an article for the Pokèmon line of Litten, Torracat, and Incineroar?

It first appeared alongside Popplio, Brionne, and Primarina which has its own article going into the reactions towards it's design, when it was first announced to present day. The litten line being a starter meant it also received a lot of scrutiny and many Internet memes were made in response, so I thought it might be useful for it to have its own article, as Ive only found basic information on the line in the List of generation VII Pokémon article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_generation_VII_Pok%C3%A9mon#).

Just thought I'd ask before trying anything, I'm very new and I don't know if this has been asked before so.

Thanks in advance :) !! --Thekittyburger (talk) 02:41, 20 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kit! Welcome to Wikipedia. Do you have reliable, secondary sources that provide signficant coverage to the Pokemon line? It sounds like an interesting article, however, it needs to meet our guidelines for notability. If a significantly long article could be made with reliable sources (like a few paragraphs), I think a stand alone article could be made. You may also want to look for Japanese language sources and see if there's an article on Japanese wikipedia already (it could be a good starting point to translate from). Feel free to send your sources for me to take a look! Justiyaya 03:19, 20 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello Justiyaya:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in December!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:07, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Cdominic8 on Vickers machine gun (01:48, 3 December 2025)

Hi! I'm a newer editor, and I got assigned you for my mentor :) While doing some (pretty major, as copyedits go) copyedits, I had a quick question about the Vickers MG article: For most of the article, the gun is spoken of in the past tense, but in some parts, including the "Operating mechanism" section, it switches to present tense. I don't know if this is normal for wikipedia, and I'd rather not switch everything to past tense, just to realize it was correctly formatted. If you could rq check it out, it'd help a lot, and thanks! --Cdominic8 (talk) 01:48, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Cdominic8 That's a really interesting question! I took a look at the manual of style section that I think determines an article is in a past tense or not, and it is saying By default, write articles in the present tense, including those covering works of fiction (see Wikipedia:Writing better articles § Tense in fiction) and products or works that have been discontinued. (bold added by me). In this case, using present tense to describe the features of the subject (as in "Vickers machine gun is a water-cooled..."), while using past tense to describe events that happened to the subject (like "Vickers machine gun was introduced" would be correct) should probably be done. Some articles does not seem to follow the style guide, like Winchester Model 1886, which could be fun to fix. Justiyaya 04:25, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from V1nh in spac3 (13:56, 12 December 2025)

Hello! I'm new to editing and want to improve the Poetry of Sappho article (specifically the table in the "poems" section, I'm pretty sure some of it is gibberish), but I don't know what to do, where to start, or how to do it. If you can check it and give me a few suggestions I'd really appreciate it! Thanks! --V1nh in spac3 (talk) 13:56, 12 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! That looks quite confusing. I would start by looking at if there are other reliable sources detailing what you would like to improve, or if the original source could be located, that might be a good starting point as well. If no source could be found, I would recommend removing the information. Tables are a bit hard to work with, so feel free to ask for help / advice if you need it! @V1nh in spac3 How is it going? Do you need any help? Justiyaya 18:02, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've been studying for end term exams lately, so I can't spend much time editing on here :< I do need help with sourcing though. (I'm bad at detecting tones and biases...) I'm a bit confused about what qualifies as a reliable source, is the average top result on Google okay? Do I need in-depth knowledge on the topic? And if the information really needs to be removed, do I leave parts of the table blank? ⋆。°✩ vinh in space (✉✦) 13:40, 17 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @V1nh in spac3 cool signature! Yeah final exams do eat up a bunch of time. Reliable sources depend on the situation that you are using it for. The top result on google might be a reddit thread or youtube video, which are likely self published and rarely should be used. You might find WP:RSPS helpful for a general guide on sources. More specific source guides exist, such as WP:ALBUMS/SOURCES. You definitely do not need to an expert and you could leave parts of the table blank. I don't have that much experience working with tables though. I might suggest removing a whole column or row if nothing turns up.
Definintely do not worry if you don't have time to contribute. There is no deadline! Justiyaya 06:44, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

}}
Sergio de Alba is an American educator, civic education leader, and nationally recognized elementary school teacher. He teaches at R. M. Miano Elementary School in the Los Banos Unified School District in California’s Central Valley.[1] De Alba is known for developing large-scale, place-based instructional programs that integrate history, civics, environmental education, and STEM at the elementary level, particularly in rural and agricultural communities.[2]
In 2022, he was inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame, an honor recognizing educators whose careers demonstrate sustained impact beyond their local school communities.[3]
== Career ==
=== Teaching and instructional practice ===
Sergio de Alba has taught elementary school for more than two decades, primarily in upper elementary grades. His instructional approach emphasizes interdisciplinary, project-based learning designed to connect academic content to authentic civic, historical, and environmental contexts.[2]
Rather than relying on isolated lessons, de Alba is known for constructing extended instructional sequences that unfold over weeks and sometimes months, requiring students to research, write, revise, present publicly, and reflect on their learning in ways that mirror real academic and civic work.
His classroom practice integrates literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies into cohesive instructional units. Instruction frequently culminates in public exhibitions of learning involving families, community members, and local civic leaders.[2]
=== Civic and history education ===
A central focus of de Alba’s career has been elementary civic and history education. His work emphasizes early exposure to constitutional principles, democratic institutions, and historical inquiry adapted in developmentally appropriate ways for younger learners.
He has designed and implemented civic education initiatives that include elementary mock trials conducted in authentic courtroom settings, simulations of democratic decision-making, and place-based history projects focused on California and Central Valley history.[4] These programs align with the C3 Framework for Social Studies, California History Social Science Standards, and national efforts connected to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Colleagues and partner organizations have described his work as demonstrating how rigorous civic education can occur well before secondary school when students are given responsibility and real audiences for their work.[4]
=== Environmental and outdoor education ===
Environmental education and sustainability have been defining elements of de Alba’s instructional career. At R. M. Miano Elementary School, he has led the creation and expansion of school gardens and outdoor learning environments that function as interdisciplinary classrooms.[2]
These spaces are used to teach ecology, agricultural systems, economics, engineering design, and applied mathematics. Students participate in hands-on cultivation, data collection, budgeting, and sustainability planning, often connecting their learning to the agricultural economy of California’s Central Valley.
=== STEM and innovation ===
De Alba has advocated for expanding access to high-quality STEM education in rural and high-poverty communities. His instructional work incorporates engineering challenges, applied science investigations, robotics, and technology-enhanced learning at the elementary level.[5]
Through national fellowships and collaborative initiatives, he has contributed to discussions related to equity in STEM access and environmental literacy.
== Leadership and service ==
Beyond the classroom, de Alba has served in leadership roles within professional education organizations, advisory councils, and national fellowship programs. His work often focuses on elevating teacher voice in policy discussions and strengthening history and science instruction nationwide.[6]
== Awards and honors ==
Sergio de Alba has received numerous national, state, and international honors, including:
  • National Teachers Hall of Fame (2022)[3]
  • National History Teacher of the Year, Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History[4]
  • Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching[7]
  • Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship[6]
  • National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship[8]
  • Global Learning Fellowship, NEA Foundation
  • iCivics Civic Champion Award
  • American Civic Education Teacher Award (ACETA)
  • USDA Excellence in Teaching About Agriculture Award (2010)
  • Keizai Koho Center Teacher Fellowship, Japan (2022)
  • Monticello Teacher Institute Fellow
  • California Council for the Social Studies Outstanding Elementary Teacher Award
== Educational philosophy ==
De Alba’s educational philosophy emphasizes authentic learning, early civic engagement, and place-based instruction. He has argued that elementary students are capable of complex historical reasoning and scientific inquiry when learning is grounded in real-world contexts and when students are trusted with meaningful academic responsibility.[2]
== Impact and recognition ==
De Alba’s work has been featured in local, state, and national media and professional publications. His instructional programs are frequently cited as models for integrating civic education, environmental literacy, and STEM learning at the elementary level.[2]
His career is often referenced as evidence that nationally influential educational innovation can emerge from rural and agricultural communities.
== Personal life ==
Sergio de Alba lives and works in Los Banos, California, where his professional efforts remain closely connected to the local community.

Hi @John Simmons3, the notability guidelines states that generally, a subject should be notable if they have multiple, reliable, secondary sources providing significant coverage to the subject. I don't think that De Alba meets this, at least with the sources you have provided. I've also done a brief search and nothing much seems to turn up. I also don't think he meets the any of the additional guidelines surrounding people specifically. I could certainly have missed some sources, but I don't think the subject is notable at the moment. If you are starting out, and is here to contribute, I would suggest pursuing another task first. If you think I'm wrong, send me two or three sources and I could take a look in depth. Justiyaya 18:20, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
One of the most awarded respected, and recognized, through various categories, educators in the nation. First Mexican American to be inducted in the National Teachers Hall of Fame, over 50 major state and national awards. International teacher fellowships on all seven continents. There are many confirmed sources available online. I would like to have all major NTHF inductees recognized for what they do for our nation. John Simmons3 (talk) 19:31, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @John Simmons3, that is impressive. However, most awards does not hold weight in terms of assessing notability. Could you also provide sources for "International teacher fellowships on all seven continents", I'm somewhat interested in where you got that from :) If there are sources, send them here, I'll be happy to take a look Justiyaya 06:34, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    Hi Justiyaya,
Thank you for your prompt response. I am including the requested documentation.

About the “first and only Latino” claim
I did not find a reliable, published source that explicitly states Sergio de Alba was the first and only Latino to win the Gilder Lehrman National History Teacher of the Year award. Because Wikipedia requires that kind of claim to be directly cited, it should not be included unless you can provide a strong source that says it plainly (for example, a major outlet, the award organization, or an official press release).
Links that confirm the items above
You asked for a complete list of links confirming these and his awards. Below are the links I can confirm right now. If you want a truly “all awards” link list, we will need public citations for each remaining award that is not easily findable online (for example, iCivics Civic Champion Award, USDA Excellence in Teaching About Agriculture Award), because I did not locate authoritative pages for those in this pass.

    Talk: Sergio de Alba
    Notability and sourcing rationale
This draft meets Wikipedia’s General Notability Guideline (WP:GNG) and Biographies of Living Persons (WP:BLP) standards based on multiple independent, reliable, secondary sources documenting sustained national recognition.
    1. Independent national recognition
Sergio de Alba has received multiple national-level awards and fellowships administered by independent organizations, including:
Induction into the National Teachers Hall of Fame
National History Teacher of the Year, Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History
Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship (U.S. Department of Energy)
American Civic Education Teacher Award, Center for Civic Education
Each of these honors is supported by organizational webpages or press releases and is independent of the subject, satisfying WP:INDEPENDENT and WP:RS.
Wikipedia precedent supports notability for educators who have received major national awards or hall of fame induction, even when they are classroom teachers rather than administrators or academics (see comparable biographies of National Teachers Hall of Fame inductees).
    2. Multiple reliable sources, not a single-award profile
This article does not rely on a single event or award. Instead, it draws from:
National Teachers Hall of Fame inductee profile
Gilder Lehrman Institute national award announcement and winner lists
U.S. Department of Energy Einstein Fellowship alumni page
    Keizai Koho Center fellowship publications
    Fund for Teachers fellow compilations
National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship biobook
Center for Civic Education award announcements
These sources collectively establish significant coverage rather than trivial mentions, satisfying WP:GNG.
    3. Use of awards and fellowships is policy-appropriate
While Wikipedia discourages indiscriminate award lists, it explicitly allows awards to establish notability when they are:
    National or international in scope
    Independently administered
    Covered by reliable secondary sources
All awards and fellowships included in this article meet those criteria. No résumé-only, self-published, or unverifiable claims are included.
    4. “First Latino” distinction
The article states that published Gilder Lehrman materials identify de Alba as the first Latino recipient of the National History Teacher of the Year Award. This claim is attributed to institutional award coverage rather than asserted in Wikipedia’s voice, in line with WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV.
If editors request further corroboration, this claim can be narrowed or removed without affecting the subject’s overall notability, which is already established independently through hall of fame induction and multiple national honors.
    5. Promotional tone concerns
The article has been deliberately written in a neutral, descriptive tone and avoids superlatives, advocacy language, or excessive detail about classroom practice. The structure follows standard biography formatting and aligns with WP:NPOV.
    6. Why this article merits standalone status
Under Wikipedia policy, standalone articles are appropriate when a subject has:
    Significant coverage in reliable sources
    Recognition beyond a local context
Enduring relevance rather than one-time publicity
This subject meets all three criteria through national awards, federal and international fellowships, and induction into a national hall of fame. John Simmons3 (talk) 21:16, 20 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Question from HansDuBuf (14:50, 22 December 2025)

Hello, Justiyaya, I was trying to create my own wikipedia page, but it was not finished, and now marked for deletion: no personel webpages... So, how is it possible that colleages like Nicolai Petkov and Jan Koenderink do have wikipedia pages? Regards, Hans --HansDuBuf (talk) 14:51, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Hans, welcome to Wikipedia. Are you trying to write an autobiography for yourself? Attempts at writing autobiographies does not typically end well and are usually a waste of time. You've mentioned two colleagues, the relevant policies here are WP:NPROF and WP:NBIO. Jan Koenderink probably meets criteria 3 of WP:NACADEMIC as they are a fellow of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. The article for Nicolai Petkov is in quite bad shape, and honestly they might not meet the notability guidelines. Your userpage was deleted because it was promotional, and we don't usually allow lengthy userpages that are not Wikipedia related from newer contributors. If you want to expand Wikipedia's knowledge, consider joining as a volunteer editor! Taking a look at Help:Introduction would be a good start. You might enjoy working in WP:WikiProject Computer science. Justiyaya 11:03, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Justiyaya. Yes, I planned to create a short article about my background and activities with links to github where I can put more extensive information. At my retirement the university deleted my webpages, so now nobody can find my background information, even my email address. I am not a bragging kind of person, but Research Gate lists 166 publications with 21687 reads and 2381 citations, 50 co-authors. Science Direct (Elsevier) mentions 959 citations from 804 publications, and an h-index of 15 (at least 15 papers with at least 15 citations) and 102 co-authors. I participated in numerous EU and portug. projects, I was coordinator of a big EU project. So I thought my notability is OK. Isn't it? Regards, Hans. HansDuBuf (talk) 18:09, 28 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @HansDuBuf, sorry, Wikipedia is not really the place to do so. Usually, trying to write an autobiography is a waste of time and an article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. You might want make a personal website for what you've talked about instead. Justiyaya 01:20, 29 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Question from Blankvoideyes (09:28, 16 January 2026)

Note: Blankvoideyes's mentor Clovermoss is away.

Hi! This is my first question here. The Hex(1998 novel)Hex_(1998_novel) article was closed in 2015 because users deemed it irrelevant but a lesser known book from the same author has a proper page. Would reinstating and updating it be appropriate in this case? And if so, would it be okay for a relatively inexperienced editor like me to try? - Thanks in advance! - --Blankvoideyes (talk) 09:28, 16 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Blankvoideyes, welcome to Wikipedia! You could certainly do so, but you must address the issues mentioned in the discussion while doing so. The discussion took issue with the notability of the subject. I couldn't find evidence that things has changed since the discussion or that the discussion left out sources in a very brief search. If you are not confident going ahead and writing an article, send me your sources and I could take a look. You could also ask for the page to be restored in draft space for it to be improved if you would like at WP:Undelete. Justiyaya 09:59, 16 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thank you very much @Justiyaya! I found these sources; a german review from 2023 and this opinion piece from 2019. (Can a german source even be considered for english Wikipedia?) Let me know if they seem suffient and if so I will try my best to piece something together in my sandbox. -- Blankvoideyes (talk) 11:25, 16 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Blankvoideyes, a non-English source will be fine. However, I am concerned about the amount of coverage that there is. I'm not familiar with either source. Book Riot seems to be fine, but they only allocate a part of an article on the book. If we assume the German article is fine, the article is almost notable. The guideline says multiple reliable published secondary sources providing significant coverage independent of the subject (WP:GNG, it's a mouthful I know). I would say it leans towards the not notable side if another source or two could not be found. Two good sources if you want to be safe.
You could definitely make a section about the book on the author's article. You could change the redirect to that section directly. I would definitely take a look at any other sources you have or answer any question. If you would like a second opinion, post a thread on the Teahouse.
I think coverage on books are a bit weak. There's definitely a ton of lesser known novels that could have an article about them. If you would like a book to write about, drop me a message! Justiyaya 17:30, 16 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I will like to get it in Spanish --William Felix-Bossie (talk) 00:08, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @William Felix-Bossie, I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you want an article in spanish or are you looking for Spanish Wikipedia? If it's the former, you might want to ask on a Spanish Wikipedia help desk. Justiyaya 06:30, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Bro how do you actually make an article, I want to raise awareness about this white supremacist group in my area --Moreau.II (talk) 04:32, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Moreau.II, welcome to Wikipedia. WP:Your first article is usually a good guide. I would like to emphasize that you must make sure that the subject is notable. The subject you have mentioned in a previous revision of your userpage is likely not. Justiyaya 06:35, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

    Question from Libertywilliams on User:Libertywilliams/sandbox (14:43, 20 January 2026)

I am not sure but I need some advice as I not sure what more I need to add in the way of soruce --Libertywilliams (talk) 14:43, 20 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Libertywilliams, you need multiple, reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject for it to be notable. You don't have that right now. The article is also in a tone that is too promotional. If you are here to contribute, you might want to look at a different subject to write about or a different task to do. If you have a conflict of interest, you should review our policy on conflict of interest editing before continuing. Justiyaya 20:32, 20 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

    Unpaid Living Biography

    Hello,

I have a concern to raise about being rejected for trying to submit a Living Person Biography with the reason being that I have a financial agreement or have been promised incentives from the subject, which is totally not the case. I am an employer of a company, and have volunteered to help writing the article for an executive without being promised any financial reward of some kind. What could be done to wipe away this misunderstanding and make it clear for the reviewers when the draft is submitted. ShalhoubM (talk) 22:04, 27 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@ShalhoubM Sorry, but there is probably a financial relationship here. Even if the award is not direct, your contributions would have been because of your employment at the company, which means that you are compensated for your work here. Justiyaya 13:24, 29 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I have submitted the article and added the payment discloser, but no reply or feedback have been received yet. does that mean the article is approved? thanks. ShalhoubM (talk) 10:44, 15 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

    Question from ArinGhosh123 (10:43, 7 February 2026)

Is it possible to create my own Wikipedia Page, because I'm globally recognised as a National Taekwondo Champion (Gold Medalist) I might have some news articles about it as a ref link. I need your suggestions before I plan my ideas... --ArinGhosh123 (talk) 10:43, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@ArinGhosh123 Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia. Generally, making an autobiography is strongly discouraged here and most likely will not lead to great results. I think it will most likely be a waste of your time. Justiyaya 14:38, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

    • Due to the result of a recent motion, a rough consensus of administrators at the arbitration enforcement noticeboard may impose an expanded topic ban on Israel, Israelis, Jews, Judaism, Palestine, Palestinians, Islam, and/or Arabs, if an editor's Arab-Israeli conflict topic ban is determined to be insufficient to prevent disruption. At least one diff per area expanded into should be cited.

    Question from Djprogamming (12:20, 13 February 2026)

Hello. I want to make a wikipedia article but it's references are from the latter's social media accounts but also, in a newspaper. So is the newspaper reference eligible? --Djprogamming (talk) 12:20, 13 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Djprogamming, most social media references are unusable. Newspaper references are generally okay but I can't really tell you exactly without showing me the subject and the articles you are referring to. Is this about your userpage...? I would suggest abandoning the project, writing an autobiography is usually a really bad idea here. Justiyaya 14:54, 13 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
The article is from the newspaper: Doinik Asom, and in a newspaper of them, sits a paragraph about the subject. This is about to make an article. Djprogamming (talk) 15:14, 13 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Djprogamming a single paragraph is not usually enough. The guideline suggests multiple reliable sources providing significant coverage to the subject. One paragraph could be argued as not significant, and you would need multiple anyways. If you disagree, feel free to send the source and I'll take a look! Writing an article is quite difficult, I remember my first few articles going badly. I would recommend some other tasks on Wikipedia since you are getting started. Justiyaya 15:21, 13 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

    Article pending.

Hi, I have been submitting an article and receiving many feedbacks that are very useful and appreciated, I felt the prompt responses are making me edit whatever is mentioned in the notifications from reviewers. After multiple rejections, I don't seem to get a feedback from my recent submission, what could be the reason for that? having in mind that the submission is 4 days ago. Thanks. Hi! I added some words in the start of the page Nematomorpha. Could you check if it's like Good or the writing tone doesn't match. Thanks! --Platnus4 (talk) 08:48, 24 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Platnus4, welcome to Wikipedia. Cyclopia has reverted the edit. On Wikipedia, claims should be backed up by reliable sources. Typically, we ask that the user adding the sentence to provide a source that supports it. Even if you know the added information is true, we still ask for a source so that our users could verify it. In this case, Cyclopia is asking that you provide a source to support your claim, if that exists, feel free to reference the source and add the sentence back in!
