Natacha Saouma-Pedersen moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Natacha Saouma-Pedersen. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because no independent reliable sources, more sources needed. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Kaffet i halsen (talk) 12:48, 2 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

user:Kaffet i halsen I thought this was worth a response as I don't get why a standard I would guess is acceptable for 10000+ plus pages isn't ok for this one which actually goes further than most. There 1000s of page for sailing olympian like this and it the same for every other sport. So randomly I thought I would look at Natacha event so I went to the first time the event was held in 2016 and looked at the last twenty atheletes.

On my page for Natacha and others I have gone further than the vast majority of these creating the page linking to the crew defining the date of birth and linking to the IOC, Olympedia and World Sailing and any top google search articles.
The trouble with moving it draft is that all the linking to categories and wiki data are lost and deleted. Page review seem very random.

It is not acceptable now and you may make those pages better or write new better articles (WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS). At the time of their creation, they were according to the policies. Now sportspeople need significant coverage in reliable sources. These six articles, Brin Liddell, Natacha Saouma-Pedersen, Sarah Newberry Moore, Draft:Bjarne Bouwer, Draft:Laila van der Meer, and Draft:Fynn Sterritt, contain no such references. Newspaper articles et cetera are needed to establish notability. World Sailing and alike are not independent of the subject. Kaffet i halsen (talk) 10:25, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think its a little to late to have this policy like this. I did try and get a policy for sailing notability but decided the time and type of user interaction required todo it wasn't me. See Wikipedia_talk:Notability_(sports)/Archive_40 if this is something you want to help proceed as this seems more you I am happy to help.
For me connecting to primary sources is important as it undisputable, maintained and reliable. I am also a big archive.org fan. Secondary source often contain personal opinions I throw in for notability to keep moderates of my articles. The bar is to high for olympians given the previous accepted precidents but this is the wrong place for that discussion and I will just stop contributing in this way. A lot of pages I create get expanded and I do a lot of structual changes to these to tables or career breakdown rather than a dumping ground of one line additional sentences that are superceeded but not changed. Sailing WC

Hi. Thanks in advance for Sailing Edits by you.

International Monohull Open Classes Association how many organ like this member of World Sailing?

How many world championship in sailing?

almost all of them only in men ? yes? a few games for women ?

World championships in sailing : this list is complete? --QKooSq (talk) 20:04, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your wrong to say sailing world championships are mainly male only. The majority of sailing worlds are none gender specific, there is disparity in female participation as sailing is an equipment based sports some suit certain genders more than others. Female only events were introduced in the 1980s to increase female participation (the IOC pushed for this as did others) this led to the creation of male only events. 2020s we have seen worlds that are mixed events introduced again to help increase female participation. But I do accept it is nowhere near 50/50 participation unless forced.
To answer your quesion on the number of organisation, the following is the most complete list its around 100 classes:
In regards to title the template is more upto date than the page
The following gives you a clue on how many titles are awarded in a year
2025 in sailing
I don't no why you have added a link to the Olympics this has nothing todo with sailing World Championships and has it own template. I hope this helps. Yachty4000 (talk) 21:46, 24 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

November 2025

Please see Wikipedia:Article title, especially WP:DIACRITICS. Don't strip diacritics unless it can be shown they are not used in English-language source. Kaffet i halsen (talk) 10:09, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The protocol says there is no policy and if you are using the accents them you should create a redirect. For me this is wikipedia english so anything you cannot type of a UK / US keyboard shouldn't be used in the URL and page name. Every page that uses these I like most can only maintain through copy and pasting and it gets worse as that accent has a number of variations. Moving the page creates the reditect and goes with my preferred solution. Yachty4000 (talk) 16:17, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, the protocol says follow the general usage in reliable sources that are written in the English language and none of your moves has referred to any sources. "[W]iki english" is what I just quoted; it is possible to type "é" on an English keyboard ("wiki english character not on a english keyboard") Kaffet i halsen (talk) 15:26, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Even if you take that example look at english sites and the accent is dropped. It not even in the URL of the main primary french website. As stated my goal is very much making the primary page and not the redirect the part easy to maintain. If there was one style of accent I would be closer to your viewpoint. Yachty4000 (talk) 11:21, 4 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
In which ways do Wikipedia:Article titles make references to URLs as a source for article titles? Kaffet i halsen (talk) 00:10, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The primary article is J/70 World Championship it a category linked to event not the sailor. Lots of events do what you have deleted for starter look at regional games and even the olympics. If you want to consistent then please also delete the same categories linked to nationality. It seems a rather retrospect action as category allow you to find thing easier and these are relevant. When i populate these i do it from the source page when checking the page links go to the correct person. I do add it to some articles but simply cannot do them all that's for people intertested in that specific athlete to expand. ~2025-31768-57 (talk) 08:12, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Re-addition of unsourced content is disruptive editing. Please stop, or it will need to be a question for WP:ANI. Kaffet i halsen (talk) 10:36, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

2025 Transat Cafe-L'Or moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to 2025 Transat Cafe-L'Or.
