There's several grammatical errors that are bugging me, the sentence in the Humans Right section of government:

"Vietnam retreated from totalitarianism to authoritarianism, with the freedom of assembly, association, expression, press and religion as well as civil society activism still tightly restricted"

The sentence should be changed to:

"Vietnam retreated from totalitarianism to authoritarianism, however freedom of assembly, association, expression, press, religion, and civil activism is still tightly restricted"

The original sentence is unclear due to these errors. Hellaciousphlegm (talk) 15:31, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done: Checking the sources, I see that nothing is mentioned about tight restrictions on freedom of assembly, etc., so I've removed the second half of the sentence altogether. "Retreating" from totalitarianism to authoritarianism strikes me as an odd and potentially problematic way of phrasing things but it's taken directly from the New York Times source so I'll leave it in for now. The formation section of the infobox is for events directly related to the formation of Vietnam as a state, therefore in that section of the infobox please remove references to Đổi Mới. TheodoresTomfooleries (talk) 07:05, 29 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. This is not a hill that I will die on. That part of the infobox is for major events, not just the formation of the country NotJamestack (✉️|📝) 13:24, 29 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not true. The 'formation' section is for events directly related to Vietnam's formation. Doi Moi is irrelevant to Vietnam's formation. TheodoresTomfooleries (talk) 20:22, 29 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, clicking the link on "formation" takes you to the history page. Doi Moi is related to Vietnam's history. NotJamestack (✉️|📝) 20:41, 29 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's astonishing how you don't understand the purpose of these sections at all. TheodoresTomfooleries (talk) 20:46, 29 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is now done. Day Creature (talk) 15:15, 7 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please include info that says that Vietnam is part of the CPTPP 奎章閣大提學兼弘文館大提學藝文館大提學知成均館事Blahhmosh (talk). 23:50, 5 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. NotJamestack (✉️|📝) 00:15, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The last paragraph in the Introduction section says that Vietnam is "a upper-middle-income economy". This is incorrect as, according to the commonly used World Bank classification, Vietnam is a lower-middle-income economy, as of the 2026 fiscal year.

I simply just want to correct this and add World Bank as the source: "a upper-middle-income economy" to "a lower-middle-income economy [source]"

The Geneva Agreement dividing Vietnam was signed on 20 July 1954, not the 21st (here is source: https://history.state.gov/historicaldocuments/frus1952-54v16/d1035)

In the infobox, we should change time of division from 21 July 1954 to 20 July 1954.
