Split the Dortches-Battleboro tornado

I believe that the Dortches-Battleboro tornado should have a separate article. The first reason is because there is a decent amount of lasting coverage (which can be found when searching for 2023 Nash County tornado), which is the most important part of this tornado having an article. Secondly, while it didn’t cause any fatalities, it did cause 16 injuries, and caused significant to extensive damage to numerous homes, which makes it more notable. The most notable part of the tornado (in my opinion) is that it caused significant damage to a Pfizer warehouse, which resulted in moderate medicine and drug shortages for 2 and 1/2 months. The tornado also caused $300 million in damages, which is way more than enough to be considered notable, and the tornado was the first intense tornado in North Carolina in July ever recorded. The tornado resulted in controversy when the National Weather Service didn’t warn it until it had been on the ground for 6 minutes. Finally, the current section for the tornado on this page is 6,337 bytes, or 300 words (word count excludes header and image, 330 words with header and image), and could easily be expanded to 15-20k bytes (roughly 750-1000 words based on current section), especially with adding a meteorological synopsis and expanding the tornado summary if an article is made. Considering all the points I made above, I think that a separate article should be made for this tormado, but I don’t want to just start one without consensus for one being made. 2603:80A0:1700:358C:BD93:F79F:1BC3:D145 (talk) 13:55, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@1x1000m: I found this record of a tornado near Niederwald on that date. Is that the one you're referring to? That one is included on the monthly list. Like the ones you mentioned near Wimberly in 2025, they are too minor to be mentioned in the main article. TornadoLGS (talk) 21:44, 24 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
