Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 21 March 2025
Hello,
Below are the specific changes I propose:
1. **Correction of a date error:**
- **Current text:** "16 July: First Battle of Vërrin. KLA victory. First battle of the war in the Prizren region."
- **Proposed change:** "7 July: First Battle of Vërrin. KLA victory. First battle of the war in the Prizren region."
- **Reason & Source:** The first clash in the Prizren region occurred on 7 July, not 16 July, as confirmed by [Source: Pashtriku.org].
2. **Addition of an important event:**
- **Proposed addition:** "Clashes in the Vërrini region on 17 May and April 1999."
- **Suggested placement:** Add under the relevant timeline sections for **16-17 May, 6-8 April, 22 and 24 April**.
- **Source:** [Source: Pashtriku.org]
3. **Improvement of wording:**
- **Current text:**
- "1 September: Incident in Lez. 16 Militants killed. Serbian police victory.[41][42]"
- "1-2 September: First battle of Ješkovo, KLA victory."
- "1-5 September: First Battle of Vërrin. KLA victory."
- **Proposed changes:**
- "1-5 September: First Battle of Vërrin. KLA victory."
- "The incident in Lez was part of the Battle of Vërrini."
- "The 'First Battle of Ješkovo' does not need a separate entry, as it is already included elsewhere."
- **Reason:** The incident in Lez was part of the larger Battle of Vërrini, so it should be integrated rather than listed separately. Additionally, there is already an entry for the First Battle of Ješkovo, making this mention redundant.
1. Not done The two sources at the end of the sentence in the article say 16 july 1998. I checked your source, and it writes about a battle, not in 1998 but on april 7, 1999 in Billusha. It is clear to me that an editor who is familiar with the language in the articles needs to take a look at this. Friendly, Lova Falk (talk) 16:47, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your reply. No, the event on April 7, 1999 is a different one that I would like to add separately. This source: [4] mentions that the first clashes took place on July 7, 1998, followed by a major battle on July 16, 1998. Diti04ZOP (talk) 15:40, 6 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@AverageSkiptar please find more sources that say that KLA regained most of territories they lost as apart from BBC i couldn't find any other report, also there hasn't been any more reports that are saying that KLA managed to recapture significant amounts of territory of Kosovo during the ceasefire, keep in mind if they really did capture much of territory that meant they retained at least 20%-30% of Kosovo or more which would definitely be noted. Wikicommonsfan134 (talk) 20:58, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's not about sentence but rather if more source mentions that claim, it's very serious and big claim that needs additional sources for verification as there haven't been any other reports apart from short period of time in summer of 1998 mentioning KLA having significant % of Kosovo Wikicommonsfan134 (talk) 21:06, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Stop removing the stuff i add that you don‘t like, it‘s already your 100th case of Wp:just. By your logic Yugoslav forces were never able to capture six villages during CDO because only one source states that. AverageSkiptar (talk) 21:10, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It needs more sources, most sources agree that the KLA had returned in some of their strongholds and some villages but not that they recaptured most of territory they lost otherwise the offensive would be considered a failure Wikicommonsfan134 (talk) 12:32, 7 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You are refusing to discuss it, instead of waiting and discussing for final consensus to be reached you are constantly reverting continuing edit wars and doing vandalism Wikicommonsfan134 (talk) 13:41, 7 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to report, you are continuing to use unreliable and POV sources, Nor Radio Kosova e Lirë or Kosovocenter are independent have NPOV, academical or reliable Wikicommonsfan134 (talk) 20:34, 24 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also the source with the battles "Clashes near Lipjan", "Battles of Ade and Dobro Selo" does not list any events when i opened. Serious question, did you make up those events? If so, remove them. AverageSkiptar (talk) 20:54, 24 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to ask people to avoid putting small events like attacks on police stations, ambushes and other kind of attacks that resulted in very few casualties. There were dozen events like that and adding them will make the list unnecessary long with information that isn't important and that didn't had any impact on the war. Thank you Wikicommonsfan134 (talk) 07:17, 25 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The source was referring to Izbica when it said it established control over the "region", it‘s common for neutral sources like this one to refer to villages in Kosovo as "regions", the HRW called the Obrinje villages in Drenica a "region" in their report "A Week of Terror in Drenica: The Fighting at Gornje Obrinje" AverageSkiptar (talk) 17:30, 26 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"Amnesty International delegates, in cooperation with members of the Albanian Human Rights
Group, have interviewed dozens of refugees from the Drenica region of Kosovo province...The large number of reported incidents, coupled with numerous rumours about the
killings, make it difficult to gain a complete picture of events which took place from 25 to 28
March 1999, as Serbian and Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) forces established control
over the region" Where do you see izbica? Yes text is under izbica section but it talks about it only bit later, this text is for introduction about the topic
Wikicommonsfan134 (talk) 17:43, 26 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It was talking about Drenica not Izbica, being under Izbica section doesn't mean the text was talking about how vj established control there also it said "region" and also referred Drenica as region Wikicommonsfan134 (talk) 19:19, 26 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"Region" could also be referring to a small village in reports about the Kosovo War, since Human Rights Watch called the Obrinje villages in Drenica a "region" in their report "A Week of Terror in Drenica: The Fighting at Gornje Obrinje", same case here. AverageSkiptar (talk) 19:51, 26 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not possible, it says the a place in Drenica called Tušilje remained under KLA control, which wouldn‘t have been under KLA control if the FRY "established control" over Drenica. Easy debunk. AverageSkiptar (talk) 21:17, 26 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There was no front line in Drenica that the KLA and Yugoslavia would fight on, they couldn’t have “restored control over Drenica” if there was still KLA presence in DRENICA Shqiptar1999 (talk) 03:14, 26 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The word "Serbian" is used many times in the article in different contexts. Please specify exactly which instance you would like to change. Day Creature (talk) 05:11, 27 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
