New England Patriots
Does the section about the new england patriots really belong here haha
There should be a section for the conspiracy theories that turned out to be true
Someone should make a section for conspiracy theories that turned out to be true. ~2025-39788-49 (talk) 10:55, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Such as? Slatersteven (talk) 11:24, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Well for starters the fact that the government gave lsd to american citizens and maybe the Tuskegee syphilis study. I'm sure if you put a spot for it, it would get filled. ~2025-39788-49 (talk) 11:28, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Do RS call these conspiracy theories? Slatersteven (talk) 11:39, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- yes ~2025-39788-49 (talk) 11:56, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- There's a whole genre of listicles about conspiracy theories that turned out to be true. The vast majority are not reliable sources, and the few which are predominantly cover MKUltra, which wasn't the subject of any widespread conspiracy theories until after it was revealed to the public. I'll note that the IP is also referring to MKUltra.
- That being said, the reason I know this is because I went through that coverage a few years ago, looking to see if we could do exactly this. What I found was that there simply aren't enough reliable sources, nor enough conspiracy theories which turned out to be true.
- I believe there's a discussion somewhere in the archives about it. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPants Tell me all about it. 13:21, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

So lets see some of these RS. Slatersteven (talk) 13:43, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- If you're responding to the IP, please locate and indent your response accordingly.
- If you meant to respond to me, I would point you to the entire rest of my comment as the reason why I won't be digging up sources for this. Specifically, the part which reads "
What I found was that there simply aren't enough reliable sources, nor enough conspiracy theories which turned out to be true
," would be a good summary, though the part which reads "MKUltra ... wasn't the subject of any widespread conspiracy theories until after it was revealed to the public
," is also relevant. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPants Tell me all about it. 14:35, 10 December 2025 (UTC)- It was outdented to deliberaly not be a reply to any one user. Slatersteven (talk) 14:38, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Mjolnir is exactly right. The "X conspiracy theories that turned out to be true!" clickbait listicles drive people here to complain on a regular basis:[1] [2] [3] [4]. Maybe there should be a sticky at the top of the Talk page. - LuckyLouie (talk) 15:55, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- I am unsure I have writen anything that contradicts that, and yes it might not be a bad idea to have a notice. Slatersteven (talk) 16:10, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

1619 project
This is probably one of the most commonly belived conspiracy theories. ~2025-39788-49 (talk) 11:02, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Source? Slatersteven (talk) 11:23, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- The book with the title 1619 project ~2025-39788-49 (talk) 11:25, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- if you just search for it and conspiracy theory there are plenty of articles right on page 1 calling it a conspiracy theory. ~2025-39788-49 (talk) 11:31, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- It is down to you to prove you case, not me. Slatersteven (talk) 11:38, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- I thought this was an encyclopedia not a debate platform. ~2025-39788-49 (talk) 11:46, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, but we have polices to prevent rubbish creep. It is down to you to convince the community (with wp:rs) that your suggestion has merit, and is not just wp:or. Slatersteven (talk) 13:42, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

- I don't see any mention of conspiracy theories at the The 1619 Project article. You could inquire there. - LuckyLouie (talk) 17:09, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Because there are none. However, the right-wing in America thinks that the book represents some kind of threat to white hegemony, hence they regularly call it anything they can to discredit it, including a conspiracy theory. Such a shame that the facts don't care about their feelings. ᛗᛁᛟᛚᚾᛁᚱPants Tell me all about it. 17:45, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
Clean this page up
I recomend cleaning up this page a bit. It seems like any accusation can be listed as a conspiracy theory. The purpose of this page is not to push a political or social narative but to list actual false conspiracy theories. Unless we add 2 more sections, one listing confirmed true conspiracies and another for unprovable conspiracy theories this page should have some of these theories removed. ~2025-39788-49 (talk) 11:24, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Being discused above. Slatersteven (talk) 11:39, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
