Talk:Jeff the Killer

Separate page for murder case?

I’m pretty new to editing, but my instinct is that it doesn’t really make sense to have a murder case where someone mentioned a fictional character listed in an article for that fictional character, rather than being referenced on this page and linked to on its own page. I’m not sure if there’s a specific project or something I should point this out to, or protocol for formally suggesting a split. Oddbard (talk) 23:49, 5 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn’t have enough sources for it to be officially branched off into a new article. Nice having new editors on here though! 🐝 B33net 🐝 03:52, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

About authorship and source verification on Jeff the Killer article

Hello everyone.

I recently attempted to update the authorship and origin sections of the Jeff the Killer page to reflect verifiable information based on primary and community-confirmed sources.

However, my edit was automatically blocked by filter LTA 404. I understand this filter exists to prevent vandalism, but my intention was purely to clarify and document factual origins regarding the story’s creation. Specifically: The canonical version of Jeff the Killer comes from the story published by GameFuelTV (Josh Jordan) in 2011. The concept story originally written by Sesseur differs from the later canonical narrative. The Jane the Killer storyline was later developed by PastaStalker64 (based on a concept by MadameBlackWolf) in 2012. These claims can be verified through public archives and long-standing documentation across the creepypasta community (including the migration and cleanup from Fandom to independent archives). I would appreciate if an editor could review this matter and, if possible, help restore the corrected authorship section or advise how to safely include these details without triggering the filter. Thank you for your time and collaboration. 5carlyrosette (talk) 23:56, 17 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I feel the article should also mention the story "Homicidal Liu" due the the story coining the name Woods. If you read the story you can see that it has no surnames. Sorakatana8 (talk) 19:35, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion on the "Original Image" section

There's a lot of information that needs to be added regarding the original image considering the amount of research and content found that progressed the search beyond just speculating random images, is anyone willing to take the task? BaconAnim4te (talk) 16:59, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@BaconAnim4te the current claim about it being an (seemingly fictional) american suicide victim from 2008 is just false, per this pastebin (this is referenced on KYM) which shows it dating to the Japanese side of the internet from at least back to 2005 along with a lesser known edit from that time period. this is probably all WP:OR but it might be enough to remove the faulty info we currently have? Original authorship and language issues throughout the page

Is there any direct link to the original Jeff the Killer story with the author as GamerFuelTV? The most popular and referenced version I've heard discussed and read in its prominence is on the original Creepypasta website, but I acknowledge that this version definitely could've been wrongly attributed to Sesseur. There's also no citing for the GamerFuelTV version.

Allssooooo, some of the language and additional details in this article need to be cleaned up. "Some fans envision a confrontation between Jeff and Jane similar to the slasher film Freddy vs. Jason" is probably fan-driven skepticism that doesn't need to be present on an article about the most objective parts of the creepypasta's history, along with a lot of abrupt sentences and awkward tonal issues needing fixed in the History section. volt-AIR-EE-en Voltairienne 23:20, 2 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Issues with "Original Image" Section

The section on the original image contains original research and lacks citations as of revision 13:12, 8 March 2026. I have removed most of it in my revision, and I ask that anyone who adds to it cites a reliable source. Regalska (talk) 21:02, 8 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I decided to remove the section entirely, as it lacks information, notability, and relevance to the main article. A section pertaining to the image's origin is not relevant to the character or story of Jeff the Killer, and there is no way as of March 2026 to include a satisfactory amount of information to warrant a section without it being entirely comprised of original research.
