The revelations about Elvis' pet chimpanzee Scatter are enlightening, as they predate the more publicized Michael Jackson adoption of Bubbles by over 20 years

Learning that he adopted a chimp in 1961, and that Scatter would also accompany him at times in public, just makes me mind boggled.[1] I myself have long heard too much about Michael Jackson and Bubbles, but never about Elvis and Scatter.MyGosh789 (talk) 17:41, 11 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Genres in the infobox- sorting things out

Per the page history, @RitaLem recently reduced the listed genres to four citing Template:Infobox musical artist#genre guidance. Then @Bryan1518 added in a fifth, gospel, citing the documented notability of the genre in Presley's recordings.

I just added back r&b and soul to the infobox, after reading the guidance and seeing that four genres is preferred, but not mandated. Maybe r&b could be considered covered by rockabilly or rock and roll, but I want to vouch especially for soul to stay; soul music is referenced several times in the article as a notable genre that Presley recorded in, and most explicitly with the quote "Beginning with his American Sound recordings, soul music became a central element in Presley's fusion of styles" which supports the primary role of soul music in his late 1960s comeback. And obviously some of the most well-known Presley songs, like "If I Can Dream", "Suspicious Minds", and "Burning Love" are soul music songs. Evaporation123 (talk) 06:56, 23 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

    Middle Name

Please check the middle name. I knew a cousin who said it was "Aron." The Wikipedia entry for "Aron" says it was his assigned named, but is often corrected to "Aaron." My crossword puzzle writers would appreciate such a note in the main entry since they love to use middle name of "the King" or similar as a four-letter word. ~2026-64179-3 (talk) 15:20, 29 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Not done The first explanatory note in the article already fully covers the subject of Elvis' middle name. Stefen 𝕋ower Huddle • Handiwerk 19:10, 29 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
