If someone sees this, please check whether February 23 is the correct date for the start of the Berbice rebellion? A history of the rebellion I'm reading, Blood on the River by Marjoleine Kars, dates the start of the rebellion to February 27. It seems to be widely said that it's the 23rd because that is a national holiday in Guyana, Republic Day, but I tried looking for sources from Guyana and nothing I found said the date of the holiday was due to the rebellion, only that it's the day they declared independence. I can't be certain if there's disagreement among historians about what to call the start date or what because the sources on Wikipedia are books I don't have access to. ~2026-11836-03 (talk) 17:51, 22 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
