Description
English: Two scenes and a short text within a curving floral border. Top central scene is an illustration of a scene in Laurence Sterne's book "A Sentimental Journey" showing the dejected character, Maria, as she is described in the book. The book is quoted: "God tempers the wind to the shorn lamb said Maria." The bottom scene shows a pagoda over a bridge, a woman holding a parasol and a basket, and two owls sitting in a tree. A balloon carrying two passengers is rises over the pagoda. The text at the top reads, "Elizabeth Tudor Aged 12 years 1834" and "Prepare to meet thy God."
