English: Burwell Station (remains). View westward, towards Cambridge; ex-Great Eastern, Cambridge (Barnwell Jct.) - Fordham - Mildenhall branch. The station was closed on 18/6/62 when the passenger service ceased, but it remained open for goods until 19/4/65 when the last section of the line (Fordham - Burwell) was closed, Barnwell Jct. - Burwell and Fordham - Mildenhall having been closed on 13/7/64: hence the remaining signs of activity in this 1963 photograph. |
