English: The three guns in the foreground are 24 cm modèle 1864 guns. The two in front show the barrel before the rings (frettes) were shrunk on.
Nederlands: De drie kanonnen in de voorgrond zijn 24 cm modèle 1864, vrijwel gelijk aan de Nederlandse 24 cm ijzer. De twee kanonnen op de voorgrond zijn nog niet van ringen (frettes) voorzien.
Français : Par Jules de Crisenoy p. 199: Le dessin ci-joint représente la façade de bâtiment qui renferme les hauts fourneaux. Sur le premier plan, on voit un canon de 24 centimètres a peu près terminé, et, plus en avant, deus canons du même type, tels qu'ils sortent du monde.
