Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! September 2021

Information icon Hello, I'm Ms Sarah Welch. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Kalki, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page.

Welcome to wikipedia. Please do not remove citations or insert text to misrepresent previously cited sources, and when you add something (such as this or this), please include a reliable source. Wikipedia is not a blogging site. Please review the links in the Welcome! section above particularly about verifiability and reliable sources.
Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 23:01, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello
In the personal information in Kalki, why did you remove the information about the brothers and their family? Marvelcanon1 (talk) 06:25, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Because "you didn't cite a source", in an otherwise well cited article. Please review the WP:V, WP:RS and WP:RSP, and guidelines therein. In infobox and the lead, whatever you add should be verifiable in the main article or cited to a reliable source. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 12:19, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Kalki Jayanti (October 2)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Theroadislong was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Kali (demon) into Kalki Purana. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 11:51, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your drafts

As you've likely seen, I sent two back to draftspace and approved two others, with some caveats. Please see the tags I left at Kalki Jayanti and Rantideva. Both could use some much higher-quality sources, the first one needs to be linked from other articles, and the second one needs to be written less like a religious text, preferably with some content of the real-world impact of Rantideva as a figure, not just what religious texts say about him.

One more important thing: A paragraph of the Rantideva article was mostly copying https://sacred-texts.com/hin/m07/m07064.htm. I've removed that paragraph, but in the future, please be very careful with copying other sources. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 03:50, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bakasura (crane demon), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Atman. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Bhakti Marga (organisation), you may be blocked from editing. You removed sourced text and replaced it with unsourced Doug Weller talk 12:37, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Doug Weller, is there a way to rectify my mistake? Marvelcanon1 (talk) 12:47, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page Bhakti Marga (organisation) has an edit summary that appears to be inadequate, inaccurate, or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Your edit summary only said you added information, but as you deleted sourced text to do that, not admitting that was misleading Doug Weller talk 12:39, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm very late here, but this wasn't the appropriate warning – as far as I can see, Marvelcanon1 didn't vandalise the article, but used a misleading edit summary (apparently by accident). There's a template for that at Template:Uw-wrongsummary (alternatively Template:Uw-mislead1 and so on), so if you must template the regulars you should use that instead. Dāsānudāsa (talk) 12:38, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Warning

Hindu mythology is a perfectly acceptable term. Please do not do mass deletions, which can invite sanctions. You can open a discussion at the talk page of that page if you wish, and obtain a WP:CONSENSUS. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 16:11, 8 October 2024 (UTC) moved down from an earlier section[reply]

You need to immediately stop systematically removing "myth" and "mythology" from articles referencing Hindu mythology, or you will be blocked. It is very disruptive, especially on such a scale. The terms are used appropriately, and there's nothing "biased" about them. Bishonen | tålk 17:27, 8 October 2024 (UTC).[reply]

PROD

Wikipedia:Proposed deletion:

Proposed deletion (PROD) is a way to suggest an article or file for uncontroversial deletion... Any editor (including the article's creator or the file's uploader) may object to the deletion by simply removing the tag; this action permanently cancels the proposed deletion via PROD.

Upd Edit (talk) 16:50, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

But what was the reason for you to object? The author who first wrote about her even said that she is fiction. Marvelcanon1 (talk) 16:56, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Savitribai Phule was the one to "first write about her"; the letter has been reproduced in Tharu (1991), a source cited in our article. Many scholars have mentioned Sheikh too-long before Mandal wrote the article-and some of them are cited too. Thanks, Upd Edit (talk) 17:01, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Noted with thanks. Marvelcanon1 (talk) 17:07, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, I do not know from where did Tharu (and others, following her lead) obtained the information about Fatima being a colleague of Phule; the sole line in the letter is not very instructive in the regard. But in Wikipedia, it is verifiability than truth that matters and given Mandal's "confessions", I expect scholars to wade in and settle the issue. Upd Edit (talk) 18:47, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose so. Marvelcanon1 (talk) 02:46, 11 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Vishwananda when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 17:47, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

AI

Hi - are you using AI for your edits here? If so, can you mention:

  • What tool(s) you are using, and what version(s)
  • What prompts, features, and general process you are doing
  • What review you are doing of the output

Thank you. Gnomingstuff (talk) 21:55, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Gnomingstuff.
I sometimes use general language or research tools to check grammar or locate reliable academic references, but all of my edits are written and reviewed by me before posting. I do my best to ensure everything I add follows Wikipedia’s sourcing and neutrality guidelines as closely as possible. Marvelcanon1 (talk) 02:05, 7 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for responding. It would really help, though -- and is recommended on the page mentioned above -- to be specific about which ones. Gnomingstuff (talk) 04:13, 7 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I meant things like Grammarly or other grammar checkers, and databases such as Google Scholar, Google Books, or JSTOR to find reliable academic sources. Marvelcanon1 (talk) 05:03, 7 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing certain namespaces (Articlespace) for persistently using AI/LLM generated content in articles. It would be a good idea if you would explain yourself at the WP:ANI discussion which has been linked above.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Black Kite (talk) 22:37, 27 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-administrator comment) Hi Marvelcanon1, I've come from ANI and saw you've been blocked for using AI. If you submit an unblock request, please don't use AI/LLM/Chatbots to write it for you. To give you the best chance going forwards, here are three pages I strongly recommend reading before you do anything else:

  • AI-written appeals are usually immediately dismissed, see WP:NICETRY for an explanation.
  • To understand why you were blocked, see WP:LLM.
  • Before writing any appeal, see WP:GAB.

Request reason:

I understand that I was blocked because I had used AI-generated texts as edits into various Wiki articles. I now take full responsibilty for this and sincerely apologise for my actions. I have read all the policies that have been provided that surround the use of AI for Wikipedia edits, and now fully understand that all my edits must be done without the help of AI. From now on, I will make edits on Wikipedia articles without AI and use well sourced, reliable references. I would be grateful if I can get a chance to show that I can edit responsibly and follow Wikipedia's standards on having original contirbutions that are fully human-written. Thank you.
