::Or "Statues of...", as there are named statues as well. Or just the unitalicized names with 'Statue of" in the hidden link so everything is in one section (I haven't looked, are some of the works paintings or other artworks besides Statues? If not then the entire section could be named 'Statues' or 'Sculptures'. [[User:Randy Kryn|Randy Kryn]] ([[User talk:Randy Kryn|talk]]) 14:58, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

Revision as of 16:42, 15 October 2019

Alphabetical

Since the 'Statue of' is being used here (thanks for a good template, Bostonians should enjoy it), might the 'Statue of...' listings be better alphabetized by last name instead of first, for ease of identification? Randy Kryn (talk) 14:40, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Randy Kryn, I'm not opposed. We might even have a subsection called "Statues", sorted by last name, to remove the many mentions of "Statue of..." from the template. Not sure if their template improvements are listed anywhere, but User:Ham II has a way of making these art templates much more presentable! :) ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:54, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Or "Statues of...", as there are named statues as well. Or just the unitalicized names with 'Statue of" in the hidden link so everything is in one section (I haven't looked, are some of the works paintings or other artworks besides Statues? If not then the entire section could be named 'Statues' or 'Sculptures'. Randy Kryn (talk) 14:58, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer: Thanks for the ping; I've now separated the portrait statues from the other works and arranged them in alphabetical order by surname – good suggestions both. There could be an argument for changing the heading "Statues" to "Portrait statues" if anyone feels strongly about it. I think Wikipedia:WikiProject Public Art/Showcase#Public art navboxes and lists could ultimately serve as the list of improved navboxes... Ham II (talk) 16:41, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
