- Germany beats Poland 1-0, thanks to the match's only goal by Oliver Neuville in stoppage time.
- Saudi Arabia ties Tunisia 2-2. Tunisia's Radhi Jaidi scores in stoppage time to even the match.
- Spain defeats Ukraine 4-0. Scores by Xabi Alonso, David Villa (2) and Torres.
- Brazil defeats Croatia 1-0. Kaká scores the match's only goal. With this victory, the defending champions set a record for the longest winning streak of a team in World Cups with eight consecutive victories (2002's clean sweep and this one).
- Switzerland hold France to a 0-0 draw. This makes it no goals in France's last four World Cup Finals matches.
