Himachal Som (born, [[]], West Bengal) is a former Indian Foreign Service officer of 1971 Cadre. He has been the Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Ambassador of Italy.

Married to Reba Som who is an academic, historian, writer and classical singer from India. She is the director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations' Rabindranath Tagore Centre in Kolkata. She is also a trained singer of Rabindrasangeet. Her compact disc, Selected Songs of Rabindranath Tagore (III Millenneo, Rome, Italy 2003 and Saregama – India, May 2004) includes her English translations and transliteration of Tagore’s lyrics.

He has two sons Vishnu Som, one of India's leading television journalist and news anchor and Abhishek Som ^[1], a New York based investment banker.
