Meera Jasmine whose real name is Jasmine Mary Joseph, is a leading South Indian actress, who has made hit movies in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, and won India's National Award for Best Actress.
Biography
She was born on 15 February 1983 in Kuttappuzha, Thiruvalla to Joseph Philip and Aleyamma. She completed her schooling in Mar Thoma Residential School in Thiruvalla. She currently resides in Panampilly Nagar in Kochi (formerly Cochin). She made her debut in Malayalam movie Soothradharan, but made herself a leading actress through the phenomenal success of her first Tamil movie, Run. This was followed by critically acclaimed performances in Padam Onnu Oru Vilapam (her national-award winning Malayalam movie), Mani Ratnam's Ayutha Ezhuthu (Tamil) and her Telugu debut movie Ammayi Bagundi (which translates as "This girl is good!")
