Revision as of 16:22, 23 April 2007
The 2007-08 Premier League season will be the sixteenth since its establishment, and is set to start sometime during August, 2007.
As of April 22 2007, 11 teams are guaranteed to be playing in the Premier League in 2007/08. They are; Arsenal, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea, Everton, Manchester United, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Reading and Tottenham Hotspur.
Of the remaining 9 teams, 3 will be relegated. All 9 can still (mathematically, however improbably) be relegated. They are; Charlton Athletic, Fulham, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Newcastle United, Sheffield United, West Ham United and Wigan Athletic. Watford are relegated after drawing 1-1 with Manchester City on April 21 2007.
The three relegated teams will be replaced by 3 promoted teams from the Football League Championship. As of April 17 2007, there are 11 teams still (mathematically, however improbably) able to be promoted to the Premier League, and they are; Birmingham City, Cardiff City, Colchester United, Derby County, Preston North End, Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton, Stoke City, Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
