This article probably is based much more on New Age stuff than real Samkhya and Hindu philosophy sources. I think it should be properly made. Bhagavad Gita doesn't say what is written under, 'Occurence of Tamas'. What is written seems to be from a commentary on the Bhagavad Gita.

Tamas and chapters 17 and 18 of the Bhagavad Gita and chapter XII of the Laws of Manu
